Republicans have a golden opportunity to break Barack Obamas presidency, ensuring he will be a one-termer. Mr. Obama has backed himself into a corner on the debt-limit talks; the GOP can smash his re-election prospectsif they have the will - and intelligence - to do it.

However, he understands one fundamental reality: European-style spending eventually requires European-style taxation. His aim has been to pile up such high deficits and debt so he can force America to accept massive permanent tax increases. Mr. Obama is using primitive class-warfare rhetoric, insisting on soaking the rich. He is not serious about confronting our debt bomb; rather, he seeks to consolidate his socialist revolution, paying for the expansion of the entitlement society. That sums it up. We can't get that bum out of office fast enough.

However, every bump elBummO has had in office, someone jumps up and says it is his "Waterloo". The ground zero mosque was supposed to be his "Waterloo".
But the snake-in-the-grass president is actually a slippery eel and with the slobbering aid of his trained media, he slides by everytime.
Having reason to go after him is not the problem, the lack of cajones in the GOP IS the problem.

Nice column, but it requires a stern will and intelligence in the GOP leadership. How much confidence do we have that exists? McConnell is already looking for a fire exit. Will Boehner hold firm?

The presidents goal has been to erect a Franco-German welfare state. Mr. Obama is primarily responsible for Americas debt crisis. He is the one who rammed through Congress the nearly $1 trillion failed economic stimulus. He is the one who has approved successive budget deficits of $1.5 trillion.
He is the one who has saddled us with Obamacare, which will cost trillions of dollars and add more than 30 million Americans to the rolls of Medicaid - already the nations fastest-growing entitlement program.
In short, he has buried America under a mountain of debt.
Hence, it is the height of hypocrisy - not to mention chutzpah - for him to be grandstanding about the need for fiscal responsibility.
Why the GOP leadership isn't shouting this over and over and over is beyond me.

Part of this effort needs to be a conscious effort to personally rattle 0bama. There is nothing wrong with having more meetings that fail to result in a deal. The Republicans should view the meetings as another opportunity to irritate 0bama and get under his skin. This is no different than defensive lineman applying pressure on the QB. Eventually, with enough pressure, the QB will make a mistake.

The Donald [Trump] called the GOP “leadership” “el Foldo” in an interview last night and I couldn’t help but think that that is the most appropriate description I’ve heard. I’m sure that, even if they have the muzzie usurper backed into a corner, they’ll give up and give in to him.

From National Review
Obama Not Always A Fan Of Upping Debt Ceiling While President Obamas economic advisor Austin Goolsbee argued Sunday that a refusal by the Senate to increase the governments debt ceiling (currently $14.3 trillion) would be catastrophic and a sign of insanity, thats not the position the president has held in the past.
Here are Obamas thoughts on the debt limit in 2006, when he voted against increasing the ceiling:
The fact that we are here today to debate raising Americas debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government cant pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Governments reckless fiscal policies.
Increasing Americas debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

They hate the idea of losing their coveted minority status. The GOP should use the same plan the Wis. Democrats did. Get Planes and head for the Bahamas to hide out.

Sorry, can’t happen. Too much secret video of GOP critters in hotel rooms. You’ve wondered why the Repubs always fold? Now you know.

I don't always fully read these articles. This one really puts everything into perspective. I think he is 100% right. They probably already read it, but I'm sending it to my senator/congressman & all my friends. I'm starting to think o is blackmailing them with things we know nothing about. If that is the case, tell the people that is what o is doing, lets hear it & get it out before the elections.
The left has pushed the fact that o has raised 86 million already. I think they are reminding them of the money they have access to. People need to watch Soros and his minions. He's been called a financial terrorist for a reason. I believe our stock market is averaged by only a few businesses (who are they & who's side are they on?) rather than the average for all of them. That gives those few a lot of power to mess with the stock market if they wanted to. I would not put anything past the left in order for them to get the power they want. In fact I wonder sometimes if they want to see the downfall of our country, as Soros’s does. I would just watch what friends of obama are willing to do to help the left. We need to pray for courage and wisdom for our leaders. Right now they are all we have, like it or not.

Mr. Boehner should insist on a small deal - lifting the debt ceiling along with corresponding spending reductions. Every debt dollar raised should be coupled with a spending dollar cut. That way, the package pays for itself. Thank you Washington Times. Sounds like a good plan to me. Call Obama's "bluff" (as he himself put it).

For a long time I have been advising the house GOP to simply past a small debt ceiling increase with spending cuts and let the Marxists veto-vote down that if they dare. Newt is now advising the same. It is really the only option they have, happily it is one of the best options they have too.
