Palin Plots Her Next Move (Newsweek released article early because of high demand)
Newsweek ^ | Sunday July 10, 2011 | Peter Boyer

Posted on 07/10/2011 1:13:27 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

'I believe that I can win a national election,' Sarah Palin declared one recent evening, sitting in the private dining room of a hotel in rural Iowa. The occasion for her visit to quintessential small-town America was a gathering of the faithful that would have instantaneously erupted into a fervent campaign rally had she but given the word. Instead, it had been another day on the non–campaign trail, this one capped by a sweet victory: she had just attended the premiere of a glowingly positive documentary about her titled The Undefeated.

“The people of America are desperate for positive change, and deserving of positive change, to get us off of this wrong track,” she told me during a conversation that lasted late into the night and, inevitably, kept returning to the subject that has titillated the media and spooked Republican presidential contenders for months: her political intentions. “I’m not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around,” she said. “But I do believe that I can win.”

[....]

If Palin doesn’t end up running, the reason will be simple, she said. “Family. If it came down to the family just saying, ‘Please, Mom, don’t do this,’ then that would be the deal-killer for me, because your family’s gotta be in it with you.”

[...]

The mainstream press is becoming less and less relevant,” she said, adding that she would have no hesitation in shunning media outlets she does not trust.

“I would say no to those who have lied about me. There is no need to reward bad behavior. I’ve learned. You know, once bitten, twice shy. I have learned.”

Probably the best article ever coming from Newsweak. It was fair, balanced and gave the reader enough information where a decision about who she really is can be made.

If I didn’t know who Palin was and I read the article, I would be asking why people dislike her.

That is an amusing image. By count, there are twice as many signs as there are people there to support Romney.

A variation of all hat no cattle....

All Signs no Candidate...

The media is picking palin?

You bet they are. Remember, to a politician, air time is like oxygen; bad PR is far better than none. If the mediots didn't want us to fall for her, she wouldn't get a minute of it. This way, they can build her negatives (especially among jealous women), while simultaneously getting all the love-struck conservatives adamant in charging to her defense.

It's a twofer.

For the record, I do not have a preference for a conservative nominee. As far as I'm concerned, they're all sub-par for various reasons. Palin is clearly honest, courageous, and capable of standing up to pressure; all of that counts for a lot. After her marvelous convention speech I was hopeful that she could step up to the job. Unfortunately, IMO she blew it through over-exposure while simultaneously failing to cure her obviously deficient preparation. Nor am I convinced from her record as governor of Alaska or mayor of Wasilla that she is truly that prudent an administrator. I see support for her as a lost cause because of her unwillingness to do the work necessary to cure her negatives, some of which are her own fault. It is a not uncommon weakness of beautiful and successful women that they believe there is "nothing to fix" and I believe there is some of that in her case. To quote Andy Grove, "Only the paranoid survive."

Those flowers you see before her in the picture are “Fireweed” and have great meaning to many Alaskans, and it is not by accident they appear in so many photos with Sarah Palin. The fireweed is a plant of many uses, from medicinal, to a food source. When we lived in AK, the Wife and many others made fresh salads and cooked the tender leaves in the spring. From the flowers all kinds of jams, jellies, syrups and fireweed honey are made. Forgive me while I brag, but when we lived in AK, the Wife made the best fireweed honey ever.

Wouldn’t Katie Couric, Charles Gibson, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and Lawrence O’Donnell, (to name a few) absolutely crap down both legs if Sarah Palin does become the next President of The United States of America?

Her maiden name "Heath" means from "the outer lands"....

Her full name, Sarah Louise Heath Palin means...

"The Princess who is a Renowned Fighter from the Outer-lands who will serve at the Table"

Worse than the Civil War? It’s bad now, but we’ve been on a downward path for decades. Obama just sped it up.

The left controls everything. EVERYTHING. Schools, the media, courts. So on and so forth. We have no recourse but ourselves. I think we are on a collision course that looks more and more inevitable with every passing day.

Exactly. They control everything, but it’s still not enough. That’s why they want open borders and having millions of illegals flooding in. Since they can’t control us, they’re going to replace us with a more submissive population that will keep their power from being challenged.

Those idiots at Newsweek could've got some money from Newsmax, but true or even more true to the Socialist principles of his grandfather, Evan Thomas decided to sell his weekly for its true worth -- one dollar!

And now "Newsweek" wants to inflict such brilliant economic policies on America with their deification of that phony Messiah, Barack Hussein Obama.

Be worth having her as president for that alone - even if I didn’t think she’d be a terrific president. :-)

“The only ting left to do is for the MSM to literally sh*t on a photo of her on-air.”

LOL, unfortunately the MSM slime have a knack for beating the pi$$ out of you without making themselves look like bullies....at least to the average American.

If they do go too far and the average Joe sees her as being unfairly and grossly demonized , it’s all over.

To date that’s not the case.

No preferences picked yet hey? Then you go over to the dark side with the usual ad nauseam anybody but Palin PDS talking points. Give it a rest, getting old, so very, very, old, and tiresome.

Yes, but should she announce or become the Republican nominee, it will get worse, a lot lot worse.

Now how could it possible be any worse for her and her family than it already has these past three years. The attacked her toddler, for crying out loud, and called her a murderer.
