“If the experience of those few other states and countries where this is already law is any indication, the churches, and believers, will soon be harassed, threatened, and hauled into court for their conviction that marriage is between one man, one woman, forever, bringing children into the world,” wrote the archbishop.

Zero would put us in gulags tomorrow if he thought he could get away with it.

There’s been talk about jailing ‘global warming deniers’ as well. The left wants facism.

Our separation of Church and State PROHIBITS the government from defining what is or is not a “sin”.

The US Government is PROHIBITED from requiring any church to celebrate homosexuality.

The Amish are exempt from Social Security because their religion is against insurance, can I be exempt because my religion is against gay marriage?

Christians are hated, terrorized and murdered by communists because Christ is more powerful than the god of atheists.

We will always be hated by those who worship false gods. But putting Americans in jail for not celebrating the anal sex lifestyle, might be a problem for the American elite compared to the Euro-peons. American Christians tend to be attached to an ideology of freedom and have a long history of warring against the opposite.

Where they will try to hurt us is that corporations and polically correct businesses and higher education will refuse to let us have slots and jobs and refuse to do commerce with us because they will named haters/biggots.

When that comes, we had best be prepared to stick together for one another; deal amongst ourselves and discriminate on behalf of one another’s advancement in every way we can. We are going to have to follow the example of Jews who have managed to get around this hate thing for a long, long time by sticking together and preferring one another in any and all ways possible.

“Oh confound all this. I’m not a scholar, I don’t know whether the marriage was lawful or not but– dammit, Your Eminence, look at these names! Why can’t you do as I did and come with us, for fellowship!?”

“And when we die, and you are sent to heaven for doing your conscience, and I am sent to hell for not doing mine, will you come with me, for fellowship?”

The homosexual mafia and its friends in the government have been used to the willing cooperation, or capitulation, of apostate religious bodies and it makes them mad when the rest of us don’t go along.

Of course, we cannot go along, and we must resist. We are free men and women, created free by our Creator. At the core of our liberty is the freedom of thought and belief. That used to be something we could take for granted by virtue of the First Amendment. Even if the First Amendment is eroded and ignored, we are still, by our creation, free.

Christians would do well to remember the example of Peter who, when told to stop preaching, replied: We must obey God rather than men.”

As far as Christianity being outlawed — well, it can’t be outlawed. They can try. They can pass laws. But are God and His Word ever truly constricted by human laws? I know a number of Orthodox Christians from Albania. Albania, from 1967 until the communists fell, closed all churches, synagogues, and mosques, and outlawed all religious observance. I knew some young people, born after 1967, who came to America after Albania opened up, and they knew — by heart — all of the hymns of the Orthodox Liturgy. I remember seeing a performance of Rachmaninoff’s long-lost music for the Divine Liturgy, performed in Moscow during the last years of the Soviet Union, and was amazed to see the entire audience, young and old, even Red Army soldiers, reverently signing along with the music for the Lord’s Prayer.

An Orthodox Paschal hymn says, “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered.” That has to be our prayer, rallying cry, and hope. God is faithful, and will be with us if we are faithful. He will see us through, and He will blow away the dust of the current regime.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York reflected on his blog......

That's the problem. He's not acting, he's reflecting. Excommunicate Cuomo and the rest of the so-called Catholics that voted for this immediately. End of story.

In the future, when another vote comes up sanctioning sinful behavior, tell those that still claim to be Catholics, they will be excommunicated. This is a war for souls and we can no longer be passive, using rhetoric rather than action.

'believers will soon be hauled into court’

Archbishop Dolan, remarks like this and that vapid "Statement of The Bishops" that went a week ago are irresponsible and disappointing.

Is this the best you can do -- bellyache about (or even prophesy) mall the hardships Catholics are going to go through, instead pointing the way forward, constructively and victoriously?

Gawdallmighty what a defeatist.

Dolan would be more effective if he weren’t obstinately refusing to fulfill one of his obligations: to obey Canon 915. He still treats it as a dead letter. He is quite outspoken about gay marriage, but he is silent on the subject of sacrilegious Communions by pro-abortion/pro-gay-marriage Catholics. He reminds me of Oliver Wendell Holmes’s aphorism: “Give us the luxuries of life, and we will dispense with the necessities.” Dolan does many good things, but he ignore a grave OBLIGATION, to obey Canon 915. www.tinyurl.com/canon915

‘“If the experience of those few other states and countries where this is already law is any indication, the churches, and believers, will soon be harassed, threatened, and hauled into court for their conviction that marriage is between one man, one woman, forever, bringing children into the world,” wrote the archbishop.

Christians in the UK, Canada, and elsewhere have lost their jobs, been dragged through lengthy “human rights” proceedings, and faced steep fines for questioning the dangerous homosexual lifestyle, declining to facilitate gay “marriages,” or even failing to acknowledge “gay pride” events.’

If any of us has friends (I do) that don’t see how same-sex “marriage” will hurt them, show them the above excerpt, tell them to look at history.
