Former Congressman Mark Foley, diagnosed several weeks ago with an aggressive prostate cancer, will have surgery Friday morning to have his prostate removed.

Foley, who was a Republican congressman from Palm Beach County for almost 12 years, said in a telephone interview that a battery of tests shows the cancer hasn’t spread beyond the prostate. But after consulting with medical experts and others who’ve had prostate cancer, he’s decided to have his prostate completely removed.

He said the prognosis is for a speedy recovery, and he said he could be back at work as early as a week after the surgery.

I wish him well..

The THREE MOST IMPORTANT things to know about prostrate cancer are:

1. If there is a DIRECT family history of prostrate cancer..father or grandfather, then you have almost a 4X GREATER chance of getting it.

2. By the time that the minute mass of cancer cells is first visible on a scan..they have been in your body for at least TEN years.

3. Many people elect a course of treatment because of concerns over possible impotence or incontinence later on, as opposed to worrying about the BEST way tgo cure the cancer..

He resigned, went into alcohol rehabilitation, came out as gay and said he’d been the victim of childhood sexual abuse by a priest.

There's a man with a gold-plated congressional resume.

Only if he had been a democrat, heck with that resume, he might have been Speaker of the House had he been a democrat.

I'll add to your recommendations/comments....

Look into HIFU....it's not yet legal in the US, (stupid FDA) but it works on most cases....I know someone who went thru it...and came out with everything intact....

And I thought only the left imagined things. We lost the HOUSE because of Foley's 'secret' world that got him exposed by the left wing tards. The objective was to WIN the HOUSE. Foley put himself in the position to get ridiculed.
