Republicans May Take ‘Mini’ Debt-Ceiling Deal

Republicans would accept a "mini" deal with the Obama administration on raising the debt limit, Senator John Cornyn of Texas, a Republican leader, said.
Cornyn said today on "Fox News Sunday" that while Republicans would prefer a long-term settlement, they would accept a shorter-term agreement if that's all they could get done. The U.S. Treasury Department has projected that on Aug. 2 the U.S. will no longer be able to meet obligations if the legal debt ceiling isn't raised

John Cornyn does not speak for me, an American who does not want the USUAL political solution......I am pressing for no more spending and Cornyn is scratching backs for votes.

Bachmann may go along with this but to her peril. If she does, the Tea Party Caucus should demand her resignation and her backers should tell her in no uncertain terms they will be withholding financial support until she votes on all matters concerning the debt. The other Republican candidates should be told the same. Those not in Congress or office holders need a full page NYT/WSJ explanation of their position.

I always ask myself “can things get any worse”?
I need to stop asking myself that question. We are on a “brink” and I do not like where we are headed.
Many a good people will die, as is, I pray, more evil minded people will be much higher.
