Did you ever think it would be former-Communist states that would be the most resistant to this nonsense? One of the communist goals for the US in 1963 was to normalize homosexuality. So, communists have known for a long time just how destructive homosexuality is to a culture.

No Communist government of that era ever had the slightest toleration for it.
In the Soviet Union detected homosexuality meant a term in a “corrective labor” camp.
