That is a lot of high paid employees to hand out block grants and hold conferences.

abolish it. Let the states do it.

You have to wonder how many agencies just like this are scattered around...and no doubt a few of them perform some reasonably useful or justifiable functions.

But mentally recovering from an oil spill is probably not a lot different from mentally recovering from a hurricane. Maybe the old “hurricane” brochures could be used.

Unless, of course, a whole load of liberal-arts majors have figured out a way to conduct government-funded studies upon and to otherwise distinguish the particular forms of trauma those individual types of disasters might produce.
