During her appearance Sunday on Face The Nation, Michele Bachmann staked out what might be the toughest line in the Republican field against Mitt Romney on health care: That the individual mandate is not only unconstitutional at the federal level -- but the mandate is unconstitutional at the state level, too, as Romney passed it in Massachusetts.
Romney has tried to massage the issue, by arguing that health care reform is largely a state matter, and a conservative would respect states' rights on the mandate while allowing other states to come up with their own solutions. But not Bachmann -- she rejects the states' rights notion on this one.

Good for Michele. She’s doing really well and I hope that she soon overtakes Romney so that rather than the media talking about the “presumptive front-runner” Romney, they talk about the new frontrunner with abject terror on their faces.
Obviously Bachmann is a stalking horse for Romney. /s
Well, so much for the argument that “Bachmann must be in league with Romney because she never attacks Romneycare.”
GREAT POINT.... Romeny is now saying that Mass. is different because it was a state mandate... but in the 2008 primary debates, he did tout Romney care as a model for the NATION...HOW would a president Romney institute the Mass. model at a federal level without a federal mandate?
Nice Spam.
Red South is merely a Leftist spammer troll who is knowingly lying about Bachmann.
You are correct. Fred Thompson called Mittens out on it in one of the debates.

No it won’t. They will just toss this under the mattress.

Here is an article that highlights clips from that debate: http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/05/romney-08-i-mandates
SO when Rommey picks Michele as his running mate, will you apologize to all here?
i’ve criticised her when i thought she deserved it. but how can she be a stalking horse, when she’s attacking him?
i applaud her strongly for this.
AND i greatly admire her strong stance against raising the debt limit.
i want honest vetting of candidates. admitting mistakes. but honestly praise and support for good statements.
overall, my opinion of Bachmann has been going up lately.
and she certainly is much better than Huntsman or Romney!!!
A lot of those slime masters are right here on FR.
Good start. Now do it in a debate when the world is watching.
