The stalking horse charge is absolutely a lie given the recent polls. No one with a shred of morality or ethics spreads those sorts of lies. When she starts criticizing Romney by name then I might agree. In the interim it is still logical to conclude that Bachmann is not a serious candidate and is instead running for Mitt's VP slot.

It defies all logic to say she isn't a contender.

BTW do you have any references to show that Tammy Bruce is pro-gay marriage? I read that from someone else here. That may not be true. But, it is true that she supports gays in the military.

Bachmann - flavor of the week.
Cain ....flavor of last week.
Trump ..... flavor of the week before Cain.
Perry ....flavor of next week.
Bachmann supports ethanol subsidies and has recieved over 250k in farm subsidies with her family through a trust for a farm she owns with her family. On Oct. 5, 2009, Bachmann wrote Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack praising him for injecting money into the pork industry through the form of direct government purchases. She went on to request additional assistance.
Michele Bachmann wrote several letters to Bush adm in 2007 advocating a presidential pardon for Frank Vennes who was a large donor to her , Norm Coleman and Tim Pawlenty. Vennes pleaded guilty and no contest to federal charges of money laundering, cocaine and firearms trafficking in 1987.
Last week Bachmann was caught using taxpayer-funded congresional office accounts to pay for campaign appearances which makes her no better than a petty thief. Not illegal but highly unethical and against House rules.
All of these things are hints of a woman with a lack of character who might sell out in the WH.

Beltway political strategist Ed Rollins has a long, long track record of taking high profile jobs and promptly sticking his foot in his mouth and hasn't won anything since 1984. Bachmann only hired him because she is looking to raise her profile much like Huck and make money from TV and books because her poll numbers in MN district are not strong and she has no shot at Senate or Gov.

Bachmann is tied with Romney in Iowa. She leads Zogby and is second in Rasmussen. It defies all logic to say she isn't a contender. Huckabee was the undisputed leader at this point 4 years ago. The first primary is 6 months from now, and that is too damned early in my opinion.
Bachmann is handicapped by a complete lack of executive experience. The only real contenders will be governors or ex-governors. Hence the only real contenders are Romney and a couple of ex-governors who haven't yet made their announcements.
I like Bachmann, but I do not think she can beat Romney and quite frankly I do not believe that Bachmann believes it either. That is why she is treading lightly when it comes to criticizing him. She will criticize his policies without actually naming him. That will buy her some Tea Party creds, but in the final analysis, she can't win the nomination.
She will always poll in the 20% range and Romney is eventually going to poll in the 35% range. We need someone who can draw 40% of the Republican vote. Bachmann isn't in that league. Sorry, but that is the reality we face.

Nice pics of Palin but not in one of those pics do you see Palin standing behind Romney with dreamy school girl crush eyes looking upon Mitt. But there is a pic of Bachmann doing just that floating all over free republic!

You will notice that Palin is pointing to the right while Romney is pointing to the left.

She is not looking at McCain in that picture. Cindy McCain is looking at him, but Sarah’s focus is on someone or something else. Probably her kids.

Brilliant observation, like in this one, Palin is pointing to the left, and McCain is giving her the "finger".
But nice try anyway......

The only reason most of us here on Free Republic got excited about the last election was because John McCain nominated Sarah Palin for his VP. If he had chosen Lieberman, like he wanted to, he would have lost by 30 percentage points because none of us would have bothered to vote, much less contribute to the campaign.
Palin has earned her conservative creds. She has been given the ultimate anal examination and has come out clean.
She may or may not run. If she doesn't run, then Romney will get the nomination if Perry doesn't jump in. I really don't see anyone getting that excited about the also rans who have already announced. Bachmann is getting a lot of attention right now, but when push comes to shove, her lack of executive experience is going to kill any chance she has at beating Romney in the primaries. Republicans are looking for someone with executive experience and who has been through the fire. Palin fits that bill. Perry fits that bill. I don't see any other viable candidates at this point.
I may be wrong, but I know my history and history is not on the side of Michelle Bachmann getting the nomination or being elected president. I don't see it happening.

The $250,000 is only the amount that went into the Bachmann family’s pocket. That is not counting the other amounts of pork she begged the US for and got.
The bridge in Alaska was canceled by Palin and never built.

Huckabee was the undisputed leader at this point 4 years ago. And, he won Iowa.
Bachmann isn't analogous to Huckabee. Huckabee was vehemently opposed by the economic wing of the GOP. Bachmann's beliefs are compatible with all wings of the GOP.

The bridge in Alaska was canceled by Palin and never built. And let us not forget that she cancelled that bridge long before anyone in the Lower 48 knew she existed and before she had any national aspirations. She did it solely on principle. Something most politicians seem to have a shortage of.

It's the same old tired talking points. Reality reveals something quite different.
All you have is speculation, projected hypothetical outcomes and pointed rhetoric backing your non-candidate. If she were as dynamic and as popular as you say, then she would surely have entered the race by now. (It's simple)

She will always poll in the 20% range and Romney is eventually going to poll in the 35% range. Mitt Romney is no more of a legitimate frontrunner than Rudy Giuliani was four years ago. His poll numbers are solely based on name recognition.
You're incorrectly creating a boogeyman out of Romney.
