I don’t have children but I could certainly take care of them. I can speak to friends who have raised fine, responsible adults who have never taken a dime from the taxpayers. In fact they contribute a lot of taxes from their successful businesses.
isn’t s/b is
The left always gets what they want, just this once why don't you libertarians eliminate the government subsidy FIRST, before we give another body blow to our culture and social structure?
Just this once, end welfare before we pass out the dope and decay, or the gay marriage, or porn or whatever.
Point being that one needs to extract the certain chemicals from these plants, concentrate them, and put them in a sollution so they can be used by the body. Also just because a plant has medical value doesn't mean you should eat it and vice versa.
That is a bald-face lie and another straw man. No one has questioned your right to question them in the slightest. As for being fired up like a preacher (I take it you think that's a baaaad thing) you certainly are going hot and heavy on the subject. Which seems to be the only subject you post threads about. You just cry like a little girl when someone challenges you to drop the BS and speak to the substance of the issue.
I don’t know where you live, Ansell.
“You guys” aren’t pushing anything.
I never said anything like that so I don't know what you're talking about. Can you explain why it was necessary to amend the Constitution to prohibit alcohol and it wasn't necessary to prohibit other drugs?
Show us your amazing intellect and knowledge and explain that then you can talk about picking and choosing laws.
In vacant houses indoors with hydroponics, expensive lights and a lot of time spent pruning and dealing with pests.
I saw it in Austin.
I guess I'm lucky that after 40 years of smoking pot and cigarettes I haven't developed any of that. But I could so I guess the government should control my behavior. /s
The Emperor Wears No Clothes.
I would bet good money most of the henny penny’s here never heard of John Anslinger or understand why hemp was attacked by the Dupont and Herst companies...
Although those two names might be a clue...
I don’t shout. I am sorry if that was your perception.
Imformed decisions? Lack of information?
Give me a break.
I grew up in ‘60s.
I'm not a libertarian so I guess I shouldn't answer that question ... but I will. What's wrong with fighting for all liberty all the time?
Here...lets expand a few minds:
Sarah Palin: Smoking Pot Is No Big Deal
Sarah Palin says recreational pot smoking is “relatively speaking a minimal problem” in America.
In an otherwise uneventful appearance on the Fox Business Network with Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, Palin said that while she doesn’t believe marijuana should be legalized, the country has bigger fish to fry.
“I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts,” she said. “If somebody’s gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society.”
Allen St. Pierre, the director of NORML, which supports liberalizing drug laws, said Palin’s position on pot is perfectly in line with her identity as a politician.
“If you’re a populist as she appears to be, it’s maybe not that surprising,” he told AOL News in a phone interview today.
But has the former Republican vice presidential candidate ever lit up a joint?
You betcha. In Alaska, it was legal to smoke small amounts of marijuana until four years ago, and Palin has said that she’s tried it but didn’t like it.
“I can’t claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled,” she told the Anchorage Daily News in 2006.
I wasn't speaking of you specifically.
Imformed decisions? Lack of information? Give me a break. I grew up in 60s.
I was just responding to your suggestion that another poster was giving too much information.
That wasn’t necessary. I already think Sarah Palin is great. ;-)
If you can manage to not kill a tomato plant...you can grow “decent” pot...
GOOD pot on the other hand...does take a bit of a green thumb...
The point many are missing....something you can legally grow in your own back yard has ZERO value in the black market.
And would not a suitable quantity of liquor also change brain activity?
Only to a certain degree.
That goes without saying, Persevero...
"The freedom to swing your arms stops at my nose, etc."
Standard Libertarian principle.
Calling liberalism libertarian, enables the left to double team conservative America from every angle, yet with the same goals.
Coffee changes brain activity.
Depending on where that poster lives...it might have been TMI.
Just trying to be a FRiend.
I have gardened a lot in my life. I also know the difference between ditch weed that hasn’t been tended much and very high quality pot that took time and expense to produce.
A suitable quantity of sugars or fats changes brain and hormonal activities. Especially rancid fats like you find in donuts and chips.
I dont consider Buckley to be a liberal...at least not in this plane of existance.
And I’m no liberal either...or a libertarian...
Oh, my gawd! What a terrible scenario! Free, self-sufficient individuals not enthralled by Big Business, meeting their own needs! Our country would go to hell in a handbasket!
I have never supported any liberal policies so your rant is meaningless and tasteless. I have voted for conservative Republicans my entire voting life.
Take the word of medical researchers. Pot does increase the risk of mental illness, it does cause problems, especially for youth.
People like you perpetuate the urban myth that pot is harmless. Young people want to believe that pot is harmless. It isn't.
Dope is liberal.
Oh, I see what you mean. I think he was speaking of long ago. His understanding of pot horticulture is certainly dated by a few decades.
Since you can predict the future...tommorrows lottery numbers should be a snap.
Lets use you same arument on guns.....
“gun nuts want thier concealed weapons...the gun culture will still exist...but it will be much worse”
Once again....anyone who wants to smoke pot...already is.
I have stock in Cheetos, Twinkies and Mountain Dew. Oh..wait..that just benefits me.
We are 14 trillion in debt. I don’t care if marijuana causes fluorescent orange testical discoloration. Stop spending MONEY ON THIS STUPID WAR ON DRUGS!!! What a TOTAL waste of my unborn grandkids’ money so some can feel better about themselves.
Gardening is something the vast majority of people do not and will not do. I don’t see the point anyway. If people grow their own there will be no black market and the gov can stop spending over a billion dollars per year not putting a dent in the black market.
Yes, because it is a well-known fact that only potheads defecate in parks!
When I was a kid (in the 1960s), there was a part of town where the winos hung out. You know: Those grisled, 65-year-old panhandlers who obviously looted "Goodwill" boxes for their clothes. The ones who, with slurred speech, would proposition ten-year-old kids for a "roll in the hay." Who slept in alleyways...
So, I guess that you're right and they were all actually marijuana smokers, not winos.
Restrictions on liberty are liberal. Or more precisely; statist and totalitarian.
So is Irrational Fear based upon “what if’s”
You already have the failed model of Prohibition...
Yet you reject clear history and substitute more fear.
I guess we all change with age. :)
I’m curious as to when? When I served, it seemed that marijuana was a quick ticket to a mast where I saw a lot of guys lose pay, and repeat offenders lost rank, but I never saw anyone booted for it.
“If somebody’s gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society.”
I thought that was postal workers? Oh, that's in peoples side yards.
I’ve seen it before.
And why are you not addressing directly what I posted instead of taking a tangent?
There will be no tax windfall like the doper crowd tries to tell the naive, and the cost of social programs needed to deal with the further decay of the American people, will grow and law enforcement will have more to do, not less, because the drug culture will grow.
So? I don’t see people getting busted for a joint.
