Rep. Ron Paul slams Obama over gun scandal, Second Amendment

Texas Rep. Ron Paul slammed President Obama Monday, questioning why the Justice Department was allowed to go forward with a program providing Mexican drug cartel members access to weapons, one of which eventually killed a border patrol guard.

“The ATF has a long history of abusing our Second Amendment rights, so I was glad to see Congressman Issa demanding answers on the Project ‘Gunwalker’ scandal,” Mr. Paul said.

“My hope is that the recent hearing will further expose the ATF’s and Attorney General Eric Holder’s assaults on law-abiding gun owners, and more people will start questioning the need for unconstitutional agencies like the ATF that exist solely to infringe on American citizens’ God-given right to keep and bear arms,” the Texas Republican added.

Mr. Paul continues to lag in a number of recent polls. The Texas Republican continues to travel to key political states, including Iowa and New Hampshire, meeting with potential supporters.

This is getting confusing! I thought it was “Fast ab Furious” that was the problem, not “Gunwalker.? I also thought that, although two F & F guns were found at the murder scene, the murder weapon had not been found. ?????

I really like Paul... when he has a lucid moment. This would be one.

The globalist, expansionist, supporters of destructive free trade laws, party insiders and big gov proponents will tell ya, Paul is a nut, a Nazi....Oh and just recently, I was told he's a right wing leftist....lol

If you look up the history of our Bill of Rights, you’ll see that the Second Amendment was actually the fourth in the originally submitted BoR.

Article the First dealt with appropriation of Congressional Representatives through the Census (a practice I wish they’d ratify);

and Article the Second concerned the assignment of raises to Congress through Congressional approval which was ratified in 1992 after 200 years.

If Article the Second can be ratified after 200 years, then Article the First should be ratified now!

Good. Congress can ban the ATF. Great idea. FBI and Border patrol can cover same turf.
