Plan to expel illegal immigrants will backfire

Republicans in Congress have launched a major offensive to force several million undocumented immigrants to leave the United States with a bill that would make it mandatory for U.S. employers to electronically verify workers’ legal status. It sounds like a reasonable idea, but the way they want to do it would hurt all involved.

Last week, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith , R-Texas, and 11 fellow Republicans introduced the so c-called E-Verify bill, which would require employers to use an existing Homeland Security Department database to check the legal status of newly hired employees. According to Congressional sources, it has a good chance of passing the Republican-controlled House.

It would hurt all involved? How would it hurt the hard-working, tax-paying U.S. citizens?

We say: "It should be illegal to hire illegal workers."

They say: "Your plan to forcibly deport 20 million people, including innocent children and babies, is heartless and will never work!!!!!!"

that would make it mandatory for U.S. employers to electronically verify workers’ legal status.

To help them do their duty to verify eligibility for employment as they are supposed to do already!

The Weasels are trying to undermine our citizenship and give our rights to illegal foreigners.

I say why not try it. We try every other kooky liberal idea that never works, why not try a conservative idea that isn't supposed to work according to the libtards. Bet it works great.

Let’s all just be clear here: Nobody is going to FORCIBLY expel illegal aliens, we’re just not going to hire them for anything, give them free food, medicine. housing and education, and change our language for them.

Why should WE pay their way back home? Let’s just quit giving them OUR TAX DOLLARS.

We could take this a step further and require everybody seeking any kind of public benefit to go through the E-Verify system.

How about just having them fill out the forms by themselves in English? How about stopping with the anchor babies?

We could also match up citizens and legal residents receiving unemployment or welfare with jobs recently vacated by illegals.

FROM LINK:" My opinion: E-Verify is a legitimate tool that could help solve the U.S. immigration crisis, but only if it is implemented alongside a path to legalization for undocumented workers who are willing to pay fines and learn English. Otherwise, it will only help push millions of people further into the underground economy, and may cause thousands of legal residents — mostly Hispanics — to lose their jobs because of documentation mistakes. Whoever thinks that millions of undocumented immigrants, many of whom have American children, would simply leave their families behind and go back to their home countries is either kidding himself, or is trying to take the rest of us down the dangerous road of blaming immigrants for the U.S. economic crisis "

I knew this argument was coming even as the liberals were arguing that we must 'punish employers'. I am even more concerned about illegals and their offspring (many times are born US citizens) getting government aid, Cutting off their employment will hopefully make the US less of a lure to illegals.

Again this illegals pay fines crap, what type of fines can we impose on illegals that will outweigh the government gravy train they would be entitled to with legalization,? And where is the CBO numbers on that?

Colorado gives illegals $2B in welfare and can't find $100m for schools and don't want to fix the roads. How about some relief for tax payers?

I get a kick out of it when the La Raza types said enforcement would only make the illegals “go underground”, yah right. And how are these millions of illegals going to obtain employment, food, shelter and welfare bennies “underground”.

Pay attention to what they say and do the opposite. When your opponent screams you’re hitting a vital spot.

The socialists claim to be for tax cuts in theory, but they oppose every particular tax cut in practice. The far left fringe similarly pretends they approve of enforcing immigration law, but regardless of the particulars selected they will oppose any action that actually enforces the law. In other words, when a leftist says he supports something good, he is lying.

The United States now hosts roughly 1/10’th of the population of Mexico illegally, who are breeding out the lawful citizenry, bleeding the country dry on levels too numerous to list here, sucking all oxygen out of the labor market, and do it all standing next to an interpreter, with one middle finger extended, and the other hand out palm up for more free goodies. We should just rename it the United States of Chumps.
