To: Tax-chick

You know, in that part of Brooklyn (as well as all of New York and my old stomping grounds in NJ), “Weiner” is not that unusual a name. It’s been a long time since Jews felt compelled to Anglocize their names, so you get a lot of odd-sounding German-Jewish names. I went to high school with at least 2 “Weiners” and other strange names. Of course, my own name was kinda weird, too, lol.

I'm sure that's true, and the name probably didn't raise eyebrows or cause snickering except among those who knew he was a flasher. But now we all know!

Yep, how many girls did you know then with Fuchs as a last name. I even knew a Lipschitz.

One of my best friends in HS was named Weiner and I had a guy in my class named Schmuckler.
