Ta-Nehisi Coates: [excerpt] Andrew makes the argument against the revised defense of Sarah Palin's da-da-influenced spoken word rendition of American History:
So all this was about warning the British? I note this simply because it helps reveal the extent to which the Roger Ailes world - where propaganda always trumps reality - will protect Palin if she runs. There is no gaffe they won't defend, no odd lie they won't avoid, no serious question about her past and her multiple fantasies and delusions that they will take seriously.
Perhaps. But I think it's beside the point. This is not about facts, and history. It's about the tribalism and the Rebel Yell. To the tribe, it doesn't much matter what Paul Revere actually did. He's a totem and when Sarah Palin is talking all they hear is "GUNS" blahblahblah "FREE" blahblah "AMERICA" or whatever the requisite buzzwords are of the day. Trying to reason with people who would defend Palin's performance art gives them too much credit. [end excerpt]
UMass/Amherst and Columbia Law? That explains a great deal about both the judges delusions of intellectual superiority and his hostile attitude. Amherst is quite possibly the most radical city in the United States - it makes Berkeley look like Bedford Falls.
Amherst can’t touch Northampton just to its west, nevermind Berkeley. Of course, “Noho” as the carpetbaggers call it has Smith College and the dregs of the state hospital that were dumped out on the streets back in the early 1970s. Heteros have been beaten up on the streets of Northampton and “LGBT” is considered normal. The mentally ill just add spice to the mix.
And Umass can’t touch Hampshire “Camp Hamp” College a few miles out of town for total moonbattery. UMass Amherst is most know as a PAHTYYYyyyyy! school.
But you’d have to actually _know_ the area to know all that...
Bingo.
I forced myself to read through this article to find any basis at all for its proclamations of her “utter stupidity”. Once again, I find none. Apparently her stupidity is self-evident to everyone of enlightenment and discernment. Lesser folks like me will just have to take their word for it.
Being from Eastern Mass, I of course have Cambridge as a handy reference point for moonbattery. But I have been to Amherst and was taken aback by a generalized nuttiness that seemed to pervade the whole place. I do know about Northampton (by reputation), but figured that it was only an asylum for women in lumberjack shirts and sensible shoes.
Well, Menckens prophesy came true in Nov. 2008!
*I will try to resist the temptation to call it the Bimbo ticket -not out of some misplaced sense of political correctitude, but simply because the term Bimbo doesn't quite plumb the depths of of Palin’s utter stupidity -a stupidity exceeded only by the idiocy of Bachman. *
The Left always shows you who they fear. I bet they have night terrors. I bet this author tears the sheets up at night and falls out of the bed, waking up in a cold sweat at the prospect that America might go back to its roots and become a strong moral nation again. I bet the communist/Dems shake in their beds nightly!
. Then TSHTF and the Teabaggers got all over Gingrich*
Ah, name-calling. Its as much as conceding defeat in 2012. They are as scared of the TEA Party as they are of Palin.
*So the Palin/Bachman ticket would be the Dumbo ticket, as the GOP goes off the deep end once and for all into the media-driven morass of mass moronics, as typified by the Teabagger movement* and such juvenile insults such as *Teabagger “credentials” and the idiotic vapidity to share the ticket with her in 2012.*
The same inverse intelligence display that Bill I know more than everyone including God Maher shows. Also, the same tiresome 4th grade level Saul Alinsky blather that all the less skilled Leftists use. *yawn!*
This is not even an original attack. Do the Leftist journalists just have a fill-in-the blank insult sheet?
“But I have been to Amherst and was taken aback by a generalized nuttiness that seemed to pervade the whole place.”
Dude! You’re absolutely right (Amherst built little tunnels so salamanders could cross Henry Street) but “Noho” has institutionalized its crazyness. Loved the “lumberjack shirts and sensible shoes” description - dead on. Also engineer boots.
A very religious part-time employee told me about the time she drove a friend to Northampton for some kind of business. She waited in the car for her friend (angle parking). A couple dykes in the next car got into a screaming fiight. This went on for 15 minutes or so while (I’ll call her) “Joy” kept turning up her car radio to drown the fight out. After a while she realized it was quiet “next door.” Then she looked. Mistake. The dykes had climed into the back seat to have “make-up” sex. Parked on main street. In the middle of the morning. With the windows rolled down. “Joy” never went back there again.
That may not be normal; but it’s not that uncommon either.
Eew, something soft about his face - those creepy red lips.
Is that why he loves the smell of misogyny in the morning?
Weiner beat him to the punch with the waxed chest hair photos.
Today, Dennis Miller called Sarah Palin hatred “envy.” He didn’t elaborate but it stopped me for a moment. I don’t know why but it sounds right.
Dennis Miller is one of the most respectful men of women currently on the airwaves (with the exception of Rush, of course).
Well said.
Envy does sometimes express itself as hatred, as when a person secretly resents the possessions or achievements of another, and experiences pain resulting from the contrast between the object of their jealousy, and their own (inferior) personal circumstances.
Amen.
edumicated and sophistic-ated too.
What a genius. FAR smarter than Palin, obviously.
(Hint: I live in Minnesota, shall we say, ... "in the vicinity" of Bachmann's district? And he spelled Bachmann incorrectly.)
Hmmm, maybe he's trying a little Palinesque "GOTCHA" of his own?
Naah. From his age, and his son's age...it looks like he and his wife had a little "surprise" about the age of 40.
And speaking of his son?
Why does a guy who gives himself intellectual airs for going to Columbia Law School, send his son to that world-class intellectual powerhouse, Fitchburg State, for "media, communication, and film studies?"
Cheers!
