Syrian TV reported 12 “Palestinian” Syrian Arabs dead Sunday afternoon as the Arabs attempted to provoke Israel on the anniversary of its victory over their armies in 1967.
The IDF and rioters were reported to be playing a cat-and-mouse game since the morning hours, with about 1,000 Arabs standing on ridges near Quneitra and Majdal Shams. Occasionally, dozens of Arabs ran toward the border fence and tried to break through it, then ran back when they came under fire.
An anti-tank mine was reported to have exploded in an area that was teeming with rioters. The detonation may have been set off by a fire that was caused by a burning tire. Syrian and Israeli fire trucks cooperated in putting out the blaze.
The IDF honored a Red Cross request in the afternoon to hold its fire in order to allow the Red Cross to evacuate wounded rioters.
Lebanon prevented rioting on its border with Israel, an IDF spokesman noted, but Syria did not do the same. Syria is believed to be encouraging clashes with the IDF, as part of an effort to draw attention away from the slaughter of Syrian protesters by security forces

More people were killed by the Syrian government’s attack on anti-government protesters, but the MSM will focus on this event on the Syria-Israel border.

How many of the muslim brotherhood were leading the charge? They are not rioters they are terrorist scum. Lord, give the Israelis strength to keep the land you gave them. My heart and prayers are with the Israelis.

I thought the Druze were Christians. Why would they coordinate an attack with with their islamic masters?
The Druze are a spinoff of Islam, with some major differences, such as the fact that they don’t accept converts, don’t want to conquer the world, and believe that their Messiah will born of a male mother, have secret rites that no outsider has ever witnessed. They do believe in being loyal citizens of the country in which they live. These Druze were disloyal because they live in the Golan, which is right now on the block, so they don’t know whether to be loyal to Israel or Syria. Telling Syria to go take a hike would go far in reacquiring their loyalty. Druze from the Galil, however, serve faithfully in the IDF, and last year one was murdered at a stop light in Samaria by—guess who?
Islam lite? I dunno.
