Range Report:
I was at the river this AM, They have regraded the road and added some white rock.
This significantly helps with the steep hill at the entrance and will make getting campers and trailers in much easier.
Also the main gate has been reworked and operates much better. I also sports an Obama in joker face that says “Socialism Is NO JOKE”
They have installed 5 new heavy shooting benches and anchored them in with T posts so they will never get floated away. The old benches and several cable spools are also available.
There are new 400 yard gongs and they installed a large steel “T” on the pistol range so you can hang targets from it.
I did not recon the 100 yard range as it was occupied.
Lots of shade is available.

Hey I’ve been there before. It is a nice place. Won’t be able to make it since I don’t live in Dallas any more. I remember someone from from Ammo depot? had the place.

NYTexan, since it appears to me there is always a week of flooding rains just before the Shoot each year, could you just pretend like it is scheduled for next week...tell everyone you moved it up to June - we sure could use some rain!

There is another FReeper here in Houston that would like to go if you don’t mind an interloper... I always need an excuse to refresh some of the ammo stock. I will try to bring the Missus but she is not too happy about “black evil guns”. She tolerates mine but is not fond of partaking...
I miss Texas Cowboy. We had some great emails and conversations. Someday I hope to make the shoot.

OH Man, somehow I got it in my head that it was the 15th. So now I have two, must attend events the same day. The other is a meeting of my AF Reserve group.. in Georgetown, the first such meeting outside the Dallas area. If it was in Dallas, I could slip away for a couple hours. But this one was put on mainly for those of us who live well south of Dallas, Central and South Central Texas. But now I have to choose. My saying that this event was the 15th helped set the date for the other one.
