SWAT: We said, 'Open up' at least twice
Arizona Daily Star ^ | 6/4/2011 | Jamar Younger

The SWAT officers who shot and killed a man while serving a search warrant last month gave at least two commands for someone to open the door before knocking it open, according to documents released Friday.

The officers told investigators that, upon opening the door, they saw a man appear in the hallway holding a rifle before they saw what they thought were muzzle flashes from his gun.

It was later determined Jose Guerena's rifle was on safety and he didn't fire at the officers.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department released hundreds of evidence photos and transcribed interviews with the SWAT officers who fired at Guerena during the raid on his home May 5.

The photos show the interior of Guerena's home - its walls painted a dark gray - and evidence collected at his home and three others searched that day. The photos show guns, ammunition, vehicles, cash, documents, cellphones and other items found at the homes or in the vehicles.

Drip drip drip. Hector Iglesias was the first through the door and the one to fire first, emptying his handgun before falling backwards while trying to reload his gun. I wonder if he sleeps well after a long night of work.

Wonder what made those nonexistent muzzle flashes.

Looks like they have had time to get their lies straight.

Wow “guns, ammunition, vehicles, cash, documents, cellphones and other items”. That would make 99% of Freepers worthy of a swat raid.

As bad a bunch of dangerous clowns that these jackboots were, he probably saw his own muzzle flash :((

“That would make 99% of Freepers worthy of a swat raid.”

And would also be found associated with a radical website.

I’m thinking the first shouted “open up” was for the door. The second “open up” is when the thugs fired their 90+ rounds.

I wonder if one of the “documents” was a copy of the US Constitution? Criminal indeed.

Deputy Dawg Dipstik’s boys are just trying to cover their butts. It seems to me that all of their photos of “evidence” (”guns, ammunition, vehicles, cash, documents, cellphones”) amounts to nothing more than “profiling”. Any photos of drugs?

If your police department(s) has one out of ten officers who won’t lie under oath, you are lucky. If you have one out of a hundred judges who would stop it, you are very lucky.

Lying is an essential function of our police state.

A swat raid that 2% of FReepers would defend no matter how wrong, even if it took dragging our good names through the mud.

I thought that was a requirement for the job?

Wow. I guess all of the alleged ‘evidence’ is tainted, isn’t it?

No way of knowing where exactly it originated.

Evidence of what, exactly? Evidence that the SWAT burglars and murderers need to be tried and executed, ASAP.

"We said, 'Open up' at least twice"

What does that mean? How many times at most?
