USDAs plans to forge a consulting contract with former Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod have turned rocky. Sherrod, who met briefly with USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack and his staff two weeks ago about contracting with USDA to help the department address longstanding civil rights issues has said she was insulted by the departments initial offer. (...of 35 K...heh heh)

Most taxpayers would think 35k for a no-show or low-show job ain’t peanuts. But compared to what she got for phony pharmers, it is indeed peanuts.
Go figure...
Clearly, it's time to defund the USDA. It probably spends more money on social justice and reparations BS than it does on actually helping the real farmers.
I am surprised she is still working with the money she stole.
...At tax-payer expense, too!
Back in 1997 Byron York wrote a lengthy piece for American Spectator called ‘The Alexis Nexus’. In the article (the title comes from then-Secretary of Labor for the Clinton Administration, Alexis Herman) York exposes in detail how Herman’s company, as well as other high-profile race hustlers like Jesse Jackson, shake down the government and large corporations for juicy contracts in exchange for alleviating threats of negative public relations through orchestrated “boycotts”, protests, sit-ins at corporate offices, and other instigations. Additionally, of course, it was about lawsuit blackmail, at least for the corporations.
These contracts were usually exhorbitant sums paid by corporations and government entities for “classes”, “seminars”, and other instruction dealing with race and “diversity” in the workplace. You know, the kind of crap employees of larger corporations routinely have to sit through every year or two these days.
“Take our classes and we’ll leave you alone. Dismiss us and you will see consequences.”
The article, ‘The Alexis Nexus’, is available only through the American Spectator’s digital archive (@$2.95 per view) but if you want a terrific education on the race hustle business - - Shirley Sherrod and that ilk - - it’s as relevant today as it was then.
Shirley Sherrod is looking for big bucks, and she’ll end up getting them.
Bend over yet again, taxpayers.
Boehner SHOULD investigate the Pigford scandal..
It lies at the heart of other important issues..
Especially NOW just before the 2012 elections..
The Pigford thing is So gross it is outrageous..
A House Congressional Committee would be required..
There was a similar vignette in The Bonfire of Vanities, how a race hustler basically runs a protection racket: give or we protest.
It’s a sad state when people like this woman ever had a job, and they want to give her another one.
Problem is anyone investigating this outrageous looting of the public treasury or even raising the issue will immediately get the racist tag. And you know how terrified our pubbies are of THAT...
My wife has to sit through “ethics” and “diversity” classes every year. She is disgusted by the waste of time.
My brother was once forced to attend a “Welcome back Bonnie” party in the office for some dude (formerly “Bob”) who had taken leave for a sex change operation. This was 20 years or so ago when he was at Digital. He was actually called into HR for a joking comment he made.
We have to take two half hour on-line ethics modules a year and attend one hour long instructor lead ethics module. The last several years the topic of the ethics class is diversity, which means white and asian males doing the heavy lifting while everyone else stands around patting themselves on the back for being so open minded and progressive.
Did he work for Digital in Maynard?
No. Philly area.
My wife worked for Digital in Maynard until our daughter was born. We have friends who worked for Digital/Compaq/HP through retirement.
Strange place.
