Drunk-Driving Illegal Who Killed Houston Policeman Was Deported Twice
The New American ^ | 6/2/2011 | R Cort Kirkwood

Posted on 06/03/2011 5:29:26 AM PDT by IbJensen

The illegal alien drunk driver who struck and killed a police officer in Houston had not only been twice deported but also twice released from police custody after he was apprehended.

Local news media have uncovered a wealth of details about Johoan Rodriguez, who killed 28-year-old cop Kevin Will. The 26-year-old Mexican illegal killed Will after he crashed a police barrier set up to cordon off an area where Will was investigating an accident. The Mexican vagabond was drunk and carrying cocaine in his pocket when his car struck the officer.

Will is just the latest victim of the federal government's refusal to close the borders to the illegals who cross with impunity. The Wreck

According to the Houston Chronicle, Rodriguez was nearly incoherent, such was the level of alcohol coursing through his veins. His blood tested at .238, three times the legal limit, the paper reported, and police found a small bag of cocaine in his pocket when they collared him.

But even worse, he had been deported twice and police let him go when they had the future vehicular killer in custody, the paper and a local television station reported.

According to the Chronicle, "Rodriguez is an illegal immigrant from Mexico who was deported in 2005 and 2006." It continued:

Federal court records show that Rodriguez tried to enter the U.S. through the Brownsville [Texas] Port of Entry by falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen on Dec. 29, 2005. Just days after he was deported back to Mexico, he tried again to get in, this time through the Hidalgo Port of Entry, records show. He again claimed to be a U.S. citizen, born in Houston, and showed a Texas driver's license to support his claim, according to records. He was deported a second time.

Tela Mange, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman, confirmed that Rodriguez was issued a driver's license in 2007. The license is still valid, she said. In 2008, DPS started requiring driver's license applicants to show proof of citizenship or legal status.

Even worse, however, was his record of contact with police throughout the last decade. He racked up five misdemeanors, "including driving without insurance and with an expired license plate," the paper reported.

But, because the authorities didn't keep him in custody and boot him back south of the border, Kevin Will is dead. He leaves behind a pregnant widow and two stepchildren.

Will the Most Recent Victim

But Will is only the most recent victim of a drunken illegal, as television station station KTRK reported. "Two of the last six Houston police officers killed in the line of duty died at the hands of an accused drunk driver who was in this country illegally," the station reported. One of them was Officer Gary Gryder, killed when he, like Will, was behind a police barrier and a drunken illegal crashed through and struck him.

And, as the Chronicle notes, some of those illegals aren't mere drunks. Some are murderers. In September, 2006, when Officer Rodney Johnson arrested an illegal alien after he could not produce a driver's license during a traffic stop, the illegal, though handcuffed in the back seat of Johnson's patrol car, wriggled his hands to his front, pulled a concealed gun, and shot Johnson four times in the back of the head.

A border-jumping Salvadoran shot Officer Rick Salter in the face and killed him in March 2009, and another illegal, this one a Mexican, murdered Officer Henry Canales in June of that year.

Unsurprisingly, Houston is a de-facto sanctuary city that protects illegals from federal immigration authorities seeking to deport them. Houston police have flatly condemned the policy, citing the risk to their officers' safety.

Different State, Same Problem

Meanwhile, in Providence, R.I., a federal judge handed an illegal alien a shortened sentence after a lachrymose plea from the convict about his tough life. This one, too, has a lengthy criminal record. The authorities have deported him once.

According to the Providence Journal, Robert M. Cordero-Luciano was nabbed trying to obtain a fraudulent driver's license using a phony license from Puerto Rico. As well, he had four licenses from Massachusetts with four different names, birthdates, and Social Security numbers, the paper reported. The prosecutor revealed just what a criminal Cordero-Luciano is:

At the sentencing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Gerald Sullivan argued that Cordero-Luciano deserved the 46-month sentence because he had committed identity fraud in attempting to obtain the Rhode Island driver['s] license. He also alluded to his two drug convictions — in May and December 2005 — in Massachusetts.

The second conviction landed him an 18-month sentence and his deportation to the Dominican Republic.

No matter, Judge Mary Lisi listened to the Dominican's tearful story. When she asked him why he returned to the United States, "he told her that he was trying to get a better-paying job to provide for his wife and daughter. He said that he had problems paying his mortgage and the financial tailspin worsened after his cousin, a lieutenant colonel in the Santo Domingo Police Department, was killed."

Said Cordero-Luciano: “If I get 24 months, I promise in the name of God and my daughter ... that I will never return to the United States. I tried to make good. I behaved in jail. I’ve been thinking about my daughter.”

The judge believed him. “You got a break today,” Lisi told him, according to the paper. “But, it’s the last one you’re going to get.”

It might not go anywhere but the fallen officer should sue the city anyhow about its sanctuary status. Failing that, blue flu might break out in Houston. Usually civil service unions stink, but here’s a rare case where one might prove on the side of the angels.

It's unconscionable that these invaders continually flaunt our sacrosanct rule of law----yet they whine and put on their Victim Act in order to avail themselves of the legal process. Do they know how many identities this guy has? He keeps invading----b/c he's getting rich riding the US gravy train using multiple identities.

RIDING THE US GRAVY TRAIN An illegal alien violates our borders. He gets a job mowing lawns for $5-6 per hour. At that low wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, so each year, he files an Income Tax Return to get "EITC---earned income credit" of up to $3,200 scot-free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent, sub-prime mortgages and bank loans. He qualifies for food stamps and no deductible, no co-pay free health care. His children get free school breakfasts and lunches.

The kids qualify for monthly SSI checks by being coached to fake ADD; the illegal and his wife get SSI if they fake being aged, blind or disabled; SSI qualifies them for Medicare. Plus illegals don't worry about pricey items like car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance, and qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

All of that is collected with one identity---evidence shows illegals use multiple identities....all riding the US gravy train. The Washington rapist---a Mexican illegal---had 30 identities.

Oakland Police Dept Mug Shot: Mishel Caviness, Hayward, accused of
running a large-scale operation devoted to stealing people's identities.

HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA -- A Hayward woman has been charged with numerous felony counts for allegedly running an identity-theft operation that created fake Social Security and California identification cards, checks and credit cards. Mishel Caviness, 40, was arrested after an investigation by Oakland police and the U.S. Secret Service.

The probe began when an Oakland city employee reported in January that someone was fraudulently cashing her checks, according to police Officer Ryan Goodfellow and court records. Caviness was identified with the help of surveillance-camera footage from Bay Area stores, police said.

A search of her apartment on the 21000 block of Foothill Boulevard in Hayward last week uncovered a printing operation capable of making fake checks and credit cards, police said. Also found were 900 blank credit cards, personal information belonging to as many as 1,000 people, blank checks and computers, police said.

Alameda County prosecutors charged Caviness with forgery, identity theft, forgery of a driver's license and grand theft. She has a previous conviction for welfare fraud and told police that she is disabled and unemployed. She is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $325,000 bail.

July 21, 2006----BERGEN RECORD, NJ

Texans accused of selling counterfeit IDs (impoverished illegals "here for a better life" pay several thousand $$$ for fake ID's)

Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, NJ L/E authorities said. The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution. The Drug Interdiction Task Force regularly runs checks.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. Authorities approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately.

The Texas brothers consented to a search. Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs. All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

Put all illegals on chain gangs constructing the border fence. When it’s done, deport them.

Illegals need to be placed on a chain-gang cleaning up Americas highways for 6 months before we deport them...the first time.

Second time, one year.

Third time, two years.

Eventually they’ll tire of providing free labor and leave on there own.

The last two sentences should make true Americans puke and despise this socialist government that deliberately allows tragedy like this to happen.

This should make you puke:

According to the Chronicle, "Rodriguez is an illegal immigrant from Mexico who was deported in 2005 and 2006." It continued:

Federal court records show that Rodriguez tried to enter the U.S. through the Brownsville [Texas] Port of Entry by falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen on Dec. 29, 2005. The fact that he was deported in 2006 shows just how piss-poor our border security was and still is. We had all these politicians plus Bush talking about how we needed the PATRIOT Act and other legislation to protect us from terrorism, meanwhile nothing was done to secure our border with Mexico. It's even worse with all of the drug violence these days.
