When it comes to “end organ damage”, narcotics are still the safest pain reliever. The only side effect that doesn’t resolve with time is constipation. There is a medication to block the constipation in the pipeline (no pun intended}. NSAID’s are hard on the stomach and acetaminophen is hard on the liver. Lortab prn and a Duragesic patch both helped my mother deal with her spinal stenosis; I hope they’re available for me in twenty years

As you can guess I’m the doctor’s nightmare when it comes to drugs. Especially the new ones. I react poorly to them. Even some of the older ones like Celestone.

Lyrica was a nightmare after just one 50mg dose. As was Lunesta.

The combo of lortab and valium both 5 mg let’s me sleep at night, and calms the Fibromyalgia down. I take 4-6 fiber tabs a day to fix the other problem that the lortab creates.

ALL the Arthur drugs totally shut down my lower GI track, besides the super reflux issue.

Just like I take probiotics when ever I have to take an antibiotic. It prevents those yeast infections that come with antibiotics.
