onservatives are worried that an ideal Reagan conservative has yet to emerge and lead the 2012 GOP presidential field. But are we allowing the liberal media (and establishment Republicans) to manipulate the narrative to prevent such a result?
Obviously, the liberal media do not have the best interests of Reagan conservatives in mind when they do their "reporting." So when they tell us certain GOP candidates are unelectable or electable, common sense would counsel us to take their advice with mounds of salt. But do we?
Surely Ronald Reagan isn't the only qualified, electable Reagan conservative in our lifetimes. Nonetheless, the virtually unchallenged assumption is that Reagan conservatism is extreme and its purveyors intrinsically divisive.
The demonization always follows the same pattern. A promising mainstream conservative candidate appears and begins to gain traction and is then relentlessly attacked and marginalized into apparent unelectablility.

I don’t know how this works, but is there any way to keep them the hell out of our primaries? Didn’t they skew the vote for McLame and other limpy candidates by crossing party affiliations. And didn’t they somehow stop us from going to screw up their primaries.
Or am I wrong?
If you think the crossover vote problem was bad when Obama and Hillary were slugging it out wait until Obama is running unopposed.
The only thing that will mitigate the "primary raiding" this cycle is a strong primary challenge on the Democrat side. Long shot, that.
Contact the New Hampshire Republican Party and demand that they stop this nonsense of opening their primary to people not registered as Republicans. Since 0bama will be running unopposed, Demonrats by the thousands will be crossing over to vote for whomever they think is the weakest RINO in the field, which probably means Romney.
I’m not sure I want the RNC doing it, either.
You are wrong. Republicans voted for McCain because they wanted him more than any other candidate.
This idea that any other forces produced his victory is a fantasy. Many of us warned what was going to happen when the Right kept running out sure-fire losers to opposed McCain and crucified the early front runner, Guiliani. The obvious choice was Rudy or John so destroying the former made the latter inevitable.
The lame minded, the lazy or uneducated “thinkers” are what got us what we have today.
What we NEED is somehow to get them either “thinking” or not able to vote.
