Romney has it all — except GOP stalwart support

DALLAS – Mitt Romney has all the trappings of a GOP presidential front-runner except for one important thing: enthusiasm from party activists.

Romney raised a remarkable $10.25 million on Monday; Republican officials from across the nation meeting the next day in Dallas mostly shrugged. In nearly two dozen interviews at the Republican National Committee's spring meeting, no one fully embraced Romney, and several said they'd like to see other candidates enter the race.

... from traditional Democrat donors: the Las Vegas mob.

I see Romney as literally the worst possible candidate. What little honest support he has is so mild that his “voters” are as likely to watch a reality TV show as to bother voting, so he’s a likely loser. Even if he wins in November of next year, he is more likely to cement the worst of Obama in place than to repeal the wasteful and unconstitutional excesses of these four terrible years. No, thank you, I’ll stick with a conservative, whether in 2012 or 2016. Romney is on the short list of those alleged republicans who will not get my vote even if nominated.

LOL @ all the Ron Paul zombies!

Does Ron Paul look like a leader to you(speaking generally here, south40)? Because he definitely does not look like a leader to me.

Has Ron Paul visibly stood up to Obama on anything at all? I haven’t seen him do a damn thing, and I watch news all the time. Who the Hell is Ron Paul, and why should I waste a single minute of my time supporting him?

One thing the GOP is super ****ing good at is picking LOSERS!

Better find a candidate with the X factor, or it’s gonna be 4 more for Obummer. Ron Paul is the GOP’s Ralph Nader, and that is all there is to it.

Same here. Living in Kalifornia I have that luxury. The state will go firmly to Hussein regardless whether or not I vote for whatever liberal Republican gets the nomination.

If the Republican Party cannot do better than this dweeb they deserve another defeat.

It is a telling thing, when the best one can say of a candidate is that they have great hair.

Romney can raise all the money he wants but that still not going to make us vote for him.

I agree, and I will probably vote third party if Romney is the GOP nominee.

More money is better than less money in a campaign, but it has limited impact now with far less expensive ways to get known than there used to be. Mitt is already universally known and much is known about him.

What will more money do? Means his offices will be nicer and his campaign staff better paid than others - and he’ll have more TV ads. But people already have their minds made up about Mitt. He has no where to go.

Which should tell the author he's not conservative....which in the grand scheme means he has nothing.
