In that case, we beat them at their own game.
Jimmy McMillan. The “Rent Is Too Damn High” guy from NY. He’s stated he’ll run as a Republican.
Why not encourage him instead to run as a left-leaning independent?
Granted, he’s not really left or right, just effing nuts, but he’d pull more Obama votes than GOP...
The traditional wisdom is that an Independent just helps the Democrat, dividing the moderates and conservatives in two. That can happen, definitely, but it is not the ONLY thing that can happen. It can also KILL a dying party.
If there is a cheesy RINO as the GOP nominee, very few will be excited by him. If there is someone perceived as too far to the right for the average American, the same could happen. The independent candidate would have to be VERY popular and attractive, but it would be possible for him to win outright.
Between an incumbent heaped with the problems of the day (and blamed for them too), an out of touch, weak traditional (read LOSER) candidate opposing him, and an exciting, bold, new person on scene, the new one can win. It’s not a sure thing at all but it’s possible. It depends on who is who.
You people knew he was a tool from the word go.
Trump has NO chance to be elected period. He would not win the GOP nomination (I am guessing he is figuring this out), and would pull no more than 10-20% of the vote at most in a general election as a 3rd party candidate.
Democrats, liberals, progressives, minority and victim groups - about 45% of the country, are NOT going to vote for Trump the clown.
As a 3rd party bid, Trump would only serve to siphon off some of the anti-Obama vote and guarantee Hussein remains in office. Oh, I know some people are stubborn and will happily flush their vote down the toilet to send a message, but Trump will never, ever be President.
Wait, what am I saying? I have a much better idea than that.
HILLARY! Could we convince Hillary to run as an Independent??
Imagine that 4-way race...a Republican could win with 27% of the popular vote.
What if Trump runs with Hillary as VP? We know they’re buddies.
If he did that it’s a WHOLE NEW BALLGAME. In that case, he’d probably pull as many Dem votes as Republican votes or maybe slightly more.
Perhaps Trump IS trying to beat Obama, and has a way to do it by using Hillary to pull DEM votes from Obama to clear a path for the Republican nominee.
Trump with Hillary as VP could possibly do it, or, pull enough Dem votes to HELP the GOP nominee.
“....running indy would require the Don to use a bunch of his own $$....”
I get your joke, and you’re right only in this case it won’t be his own bucks either. It’ll be Soros money. It’s the only way to get Obama the next four years so Soros will pony up one more time.
It's my opinion that the BC issue is done. Finished.
Trump is about winning, and the BC issue turned back into a loser. He won't have anything to do with a losing issue.
The only way I would consider a vote for Trump would be if the MSM monkeys with the Republican Primaries again, causing us to wind up with a loser like McCain again. By switching parties and giving the primary victories to some schlub again like McCain, they could swing things for BHO. Before I vote for another schlub, I’ll vote for a Trump. It’s either THAT or stay home.......and that, too, would guarantee another term for BHO!
I agree.
I believe that with the past help of Trump and others still interested the birth issue will from now on always be present as it should be to prevent future usurpers from becoming POTUSA.
If Trump were truly interested in helping the nation, he would run as a Democrat, and primary Obama. Trump would peel off some of the Democrat business money that is pissed off at Obama right now. And force Obama to use a LOT more of the lefty donations in the primary, instead of the general election.
This wouldn’t surprise me at all either. Trump has no loyalty to the Republican Party at all.
I hope you’re right.
I was talking specifically about Obama’s BC when I said it was over.

DT loves money. For the right price he'll say the right words.
He is a SPOILER.
