Unbelievable. I think these guys had an "Oh $#@%!" moment when they realized they had put 60 bullet holes in someone who hadn't shot at them. And they would have put holes in the wife and child, too, if she hadn't gone into the closet.

I think if she had not been on the phone with dispatch (they didn’t know who it was) she and her child would both be dead. Every member of that SWAT team belongs behind bars until their date with the needle.

” He joined the Marines in 2002. He served two tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2005”

Then gets 70 shots from a swat team poured into his house! My God.

Every time I hear something new in this story, I feel a profound sadness for this family. I wonder if Pima County Sheriff Dupe-nik is enjoying his second fifteen minutes of fame.

Do we have to start banding together in citizen militias’ to protect our families and ourselves against these murderers with badges or is that kind of self defense talk considered over the top?

This whole damn swat team better up with what they were doing and get ready to spend some needed time in the big house, bunch of damn thugs hiding behind a badge. That woman and kid needs to sue them to hell and back. Civil rights violation no if and or doubts about it.

Dispatch didn’t know which houses? C’mon one of the first things they ask for is the address ....

Second, SWAT hangs around outside and not saying a thing to identify themselves?

This has been posted a few times already but each time there is new information, thank you. The cops on FR will show up and defend the actions of this swat team. They have said he deserved what he got.

Then they deny we live in a police state.

It is heart-breaking to read about this. He served his country with two tours in Iraq, and survived. He is at home resting after working in the mines, only to be shot dead, riddled with bullets. His wife and child witnessing his violent death.

They got to put on the cool outfits that morning, kick in a door, and fire off their automatics. They felt macho, had fun, and that’s all that really matters.

Combine this story with the Indiana court ruling and tell me that we the people are somehow NOT in for a lot of grief if something isn’t done.

(Indiana) Court: No right to resist unlawful police entry

Similar thing happened to my Mother and Stepfather. Police at the wrong address shot buckshot through the door. They just barley missed my stepfather (too bad too because he is now serving time for kiddy porn).

I have delivered pizza before and I don’t think I have ever knocked on the wrong house. I just don’t understand it.

This case brings up another serious issue about the direction law enforcement has taken in this country over the last couple of decades.

We now have local police departments that have departments operating as paramilitary organizations. These paramilitary organizations are into a lot of local law enforcement operations where they do not belong. And they get a lot of latitude in how they behave.

Essentially, our police are morphing into paramilitary organizations. Certainly not what our Constitution intended. And most certainly, something that ought to be a very loud wake up call to the general population. Which it is apparently not.

How long before most of us (with any sense) fear “law enforcement” more than we fear criminals?

These guys need to be dealt with severely. But please don’t paint all cops with such a broad brush. Get the bad ones out, and praise the good cops.

Anybody know the basis the court used to seal the official records associated with this raid?

This is completely outrageous! SWAT busting into a house and shooting someone without warning? Killing A VETERAN in his own home? Did they get the wrong house? Why was a warrant issued?

This wreaks of Pima County crap.
