In a letter to several pro-life groups complaining about President Barack Obama’s decision to drop some of the conscience protections for medical professionals, the administration is defending the decision.

Several pro-life groups sent a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius warning her of the alarming effects on patients that will follow the Obama administration’s recent move to strip the medical community of key conscience protections on abortion.

As LifeNews.com reported in February, the Obama administration overturned some of the conscience protections the Bush administration put in place to protect pro-life medical workers who don’t want to be involved in certain medical procedures. The administration rescinded part of the protections by removing protections for medical workers who have moral or religious objections to dispensing or giving to women the Plan B drug or other emergency contraception that could act in some cases as an abortion drug.

There is no situation in which it is morally acceptable to attempt to override a free person's religious values or moral conscience. Thanks to the foresight of our Founding Fathers Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof there is no situation in which it is legally acceptable in the United States for the government to attempt to compel a person to violate religious convictions. Thanks to the Word of God Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's, I am optimistic that physicians will render unto Obama only the things that are Obama's (a shockingly excessive portion of their income), while reserving unto God the things that are God's, including deferring to God for moral guidance.

It's disgusting that we have allowed the America passed down to us by our ancestors to decline so far that this issue is even discussed, let alone that a thug in charge of our federal government can actually attempt to implement compulsory labor (there used to be a perfect word for that sort of thing, but we're not supposed to call it slavery because the forces of PC approve of this form of involuntary servitude) in the service of immorality.

I can’t believe for a second that the control-freak system behind Obamacare doesn’t have enough capability planned in that they would never have to ask a doctor or pharmacist to do something that he or she had registered as not wishing to do. It would already know where to send the patient.
