Andrew Breitbart appeared on Stossel with Al Pires, lead attorney on the controversial Pigford settlement case. Instead of responding to any of the challenges made by Breitbart, Pires was reduced to name-calling, insults and eventually he abruptly ended the interview when questions were raised about the money he made on the case.

The “PIGford” and Cobell settlements are just another commie “wealth redistribution” scheme from the commie ‘RATS to their freeloader “voter” base. If all this “discrimination” really occurred, why haven’t we seen any government bureaucrats from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior doing the “perp walk” for their “hate crimes”? The amount of money the middle class pays in insurance to pay these SOBs bogus lawsuits is staggering, and the middle class doesnt even realize that they are paying a lawyer tax.

I agree 100%, and I have written a lot about the “tort tax” or as you called it, a lawyer tax. In the Pigford Case, it’s even worse. You have liberal judges just practicing redistribution and reverse discrimmination — and what do they care? They were doing it with OUR money.

Is this swine’s name Pires or Pirate? It would be a simple matter to find out if this was a gigantic scam or not (and it really looks like a huge scam.) That would be to investigate every “farmer” who got a payment, and check if he was actually a farmer or not. Let’s ask Holder what he wants to do about it. What do you bet the answer is nothing?

How I wish I could believe that!

Two things I'd institute if I were able:

• Any 'Punitive Damage' award gets paid into the government coffers in total.
  The plaintiff is awarded full recompense for his case including legal costs. Any punitive damages are set as a warning to others not to commit the same type of wrongdoing. Neither the plaintiff nor especially his lawyer deserve any part of that portion of the judgement. It rightfully belongs to the People and should be used for the good of all society, not the unjust enrichment of select individuals.
• Loser Pays - Enhanced.
  Any plaintiff bringing suit that fails will be liable for all defendant costs from inception to trial - but the lawyer will personally cover 50% of those costs from his own funds. The lawyer is an officer of the court, and as such has a responsibility to not bring false claims to the bar. All too often cases are settled without going to trial as it is cheaper to make a deal even if the claim is false than to litigate to a risky conclusion.

Maybe we should also reclaim the missing 13th Amendment, and kick all lawyers out of the legislature - House and Senate. On staff is OK, but now we have lawyers making law, interpreting law, and judging law - and we are stuck with "no standing"!
