California Assembly passes bill to let undocumented students apply for college scholarships

California’s State Assembly on Thursday approved legislation to let undocumented students apply for college scholarships. But only Democrats voted for the bill. Assembly Republicans say it makes no sense to offer financial aid to students who have no legal right to live and work in California.

Under the California Dream Act, only students who’ve attended a California high school for at least three years may apply for college scholarships — but only for those that private donors underwrite. Assemblyman Gil Cedillo of Los Angeles said these students deserve at least that much.

“These young men and women were brought here through no choice of their own, brought as infants and toddlers,” says Cedillo, “and within one generation they’ve learned our language, embraced our culture and have become some of the best and brightest in our higher education system.”

Republican Assemblyman Chris Norby agreed that undocumented minors deserve a break. But he said California shouldn’t provide it until the federal government gives the children of illegal immigrants the right to live and work legally in this country.

“This bill is like a coach of a team saying ‘Yeah, I’ll let you on the team, and I’ll make you practice, you’ll do the wind sprints, you’ll go through all the drills, but I can’t legally let you in the game. And if I do I’ll be punished,’” says Norby.

To bolster his argument, the Orange County Republican referred to an employer who lost his business because he’d violated federal law by hiring undocumented workers.

“While it may be illegal to hire them, it is not illegal to educate them,” he says.

Cedillo responded that it’s better to prepare for the day undocumented students might gain citizenship: by educating all California’s students to the fullest extent possible.

California is broke. California can't provide services for its legal citizens. California wants to raise our taxes.

You dont say? Illegals can now apply for scholarships? Wonder which identity these impoverished illegal Third Worlders will use to suck up scholarship money?

====================================

SOURCE: BERGEN RECORD, NJ--- July 21, 2006
Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, NJ L/E authorities said.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker.

The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses for any state in the US, passports and resident alien cards, said state police. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution. The Drug Interdiction Task Force, regularly runs checks.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. Authorities approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately.

The Texas brothers consented to a search. Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs. All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 Social Security cards. ####

REFERENCE In July 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) released the results of a study which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels.

The study found that U.S. state and local governments shell out $84.2 billion annually in various services (law enforcement, schools, social services, etc.), with California taxpayers alone, spending $21 billion on illegal aliens every year.

The same study found that $29 billion is spent every year in federal funds on illegal aliens. So, while it would cost a one-time fee of about $135 billion to deport every single illegal alien in the country, it is actually a bargain considering the fact that it already costs us $113 billion annually to keep them here.

Sounds like Gil Cedillo has been hittin' da happy smoke. Either that or he's just a bigoted racist.

How ignant of them. Europeans were here first ~ numerous so-called American Indian tribes have genetic traces that demonstrate the fact.

The others? All they have to demonstrate their presence is a petrified coprolite. No DNA at all.

WHY WON'T THEY UNDERSTAND? These illegal savages are violent separatists intent on building a Third World nation inside the US. They create chaos and are fervently attempting to weaken the US financial system.

They are a national security nightmare. L/E should be collaring the offenders for undermining US national security-----not for immigration violations.

The Dream Scheme sense of entitlement is nauseating, expecting taxpayers to pick up the tab for their every whim. They have no respect for America, Americans, our laws, and our culture. They keep escalating the whining for more and more freebies.

It is indicative of their hidden agenda that they will not toe the line and become citizens, pay taxes, and contribute to make America stronger.

We do not want ----nor do we need here---law breakers with hidden agendas who brazenly violate our borders.

Since when has anything that happened in California made sense?

It's all a big scam---illegals are being financed and coached by Third World governments. The federales are salivating to get their dirty hands on trillions in US foreign aid---and they need a voting bloc to manipulate the US govt and loot the US Treasury.

REFERENCE WHAT IS THE MERIDA INITIATIVE? The US Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year for the Mérida Initiative---to fight drug wars. The initiative was announced 22 Oct 2007 and signed into law June 30, 2008.

THE FACTS ARE THESE : Mexico is calculatedly staging the "war on drugs" -- with a hidden agenda--to wage war against the United States USING OUR TAX DOLLARS. Using deceit and guile, Mexico has infiltrated the US political system, from domestic to foreign policy, as well as L/E. The Mexican govt is sending millions of Reconquista shock troops from Third Worlds over the border (illegal aliens) coaching them about taking over the US system.

Mexico is the staging area for Central and South American Third World illegals to stream over the border into the US.

==============================

Central America and Mexico are conning the US -----extorting US tax dollars to support Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative----a despicable con to arm its police and military using US tax dollars to protect terrorists and drug cartels who are moving across the border into the US.

============================================

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to help their populations flee over the border claiming they are victims of violence and need "asylum." Asylum claims gets illegals thousands of dollars in SS funds.

Mexican Federales are getting rich using some familiar strategies:

(1) plotting to become a ward of the US;

(2) faking victimization;

(3) secretly revving up internal conflicts;

(4) play-acting the ignoramus;

(5) claiming they can't "control" their enemies without US money;

(6) organizing voting blocs----exchanging votes for US cash.

ACTION NOW---Stop all funding for this con game. Tell your reps to stop funding the Merida Initiative scam now.

===========================================

Obama and Mexican President Calderon are closer than a kiss. Calderon recently came to the US looking for a-n-o-t-h-e-r handout----$1.5 billion.

THIS JUST IN Here's one way to proceed against illegals.

In 1996, Congress expanded the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) to include violations of federal immigration law.

1 While this expansion may not have received much publicity, it could potentially change the face of U.S. immigration law enforcement. Under the new RICO provisions, a violation of certain provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) meets the definition of racketeering activity, also known as a "predicate offense,"

2 and an entity that engages in a pattern of racketeering activity for financial gain can be held both criminally and civilly liable.

3 Among other things, the INA makes it unlawful to encourage illegal immigration or employ illegal aliens,

4 which violations were included as predicate offenses under RICO.

The 1996 law changes in the INA made hiring illegal aliens a predicate act of racketeering activity under RICO, but illegal hiring wasn’t the only violation of the INA made a predicate act. Other INA prohibitions made RICO predicate acts were encouraging or inducing illegal immigration, smuggling, and harboring illegal aliens.10 Together, these additions make the RICO Act potentially a very strong new tool in the hands of private parties against persons and companies that profit by violating U.S. immigration law.

Additionally, the RICO provision regarding the unlawful encouragement of illegal immigration could justify a suit against a private entity, such as a bank, that accepts foreign-issued identification cards that are only needed by illegal aliens. One example of this, of course, is the matricula consular issued by the Mexican consulates in the United States. Since both the supporters of the matricula and those who oppose its acceptance agree that only illegal aliens have need to rely on the card, acceptance of the card knowingly encourages illegal immigration. Part of the legislative intent of the RICO laws in general was to afford private citizens a remedy for lawbreaking when authorities normally charged with such enforcement became derelict in their duties.

For example, in a town in which political corruption and racketeering activity have combined to the detriment of law-abiding citizens and the rule of law, the RICO Act was intended to provide private citizens the ability to initiate court action to compel enforcement and respect for the law.
