MIAMI — The U.S. Department of Education sent a letter to districts around the country Friday, reminding them that all students - legal or not - are entitled to a public education.
The letter comes amid reports that schools may be checking the immigration status of students trying to enroll, and reminds districts they are federally prohibited from barring elementary or secondary students on the basis of citizenship status.
"Moreover, districts may not request information with the purpose or result of denying access to public schools on the basis of race, color or national origin," said the letter, which was signed by officials from the department's Office of Civil Rights and the Department of Justice.

Per the Constitution my hard earned labor MUST be confiscated to promote crime.

It was one of those liberal Supreme Court decisions that gave illegals a free education that has no basis in the US Constitution.
It needs to be re-visited, but even the GOP won’t touch it with a 10 foot pole, because we have a party of wimps.
This totally infuriates me beyond description. How can we fight this or at least REBEL?
Fact of the matter is that they have only kicked it up a notch. Now, they get special tuition breaks that states won’t extend to other real Americans.
They deserve it in their own country, not one second here!
I agree, every child deserves a good education. However, this education should come at the expense of their country of origin if the are not citizens of their host country. If they or their parents are illegally living in the host country they deserve nothing.
And after 2012 the current “Feds” will have plenty of time to sit at home and research why the American public disagrees with this philosophy.
Thanks. Enough already, we are broke. It has got to be challenged, but this group doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to do it. It’s up to We the Taxpayers.

Congress has the Constitutional power to remove the issue from the purview of the Supreme Court.
It must happen, sooner or later.
