I’m thinking about a trade-in, but not of trading in a car, I hope all Americans share my sentiments.....’nuff said.

Wow. Reading this makes one want to weep. Buy more fuel efficient cars? So many people are wondering where they will get the money to drive to work so they can feed themselves and their family. This admin is polluted with Marie Antoinettes.

""Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe," Mr. Chu was quoted as promising. By the way, Mr. Chu's goal would equate to $7-$8 per gallon. "

God Damn them to hell forever.

At best Chu is an idiotically provincial urbanite, who assumes that what would be good in the cities he has lived in — shifting from private automobile use to mass-transit — would be good for the whole country.

At worst, Chu actually has a hatred for those who farm, mine, or for any other reason live in rural America, where high fuel prices are an unmitigated disaster.

Either way, he seems oblivious to the wisdom once express by William Jenning Bryan,
“Burn down your cities and leave our farms, and your cities will spring up again as if by magic; but destroy our farms and the grass will grow in the streets of every city in the country.”

High gas prices will further kick the economy in the groin and end all hope for Obama’s reelection. How they don’t see this is baffling.

How is it that Chu gets to work? Bet he doesn’t even think about the price of gas as he winds his way through D.C..

$7-$8 per gallon

Meh, peanuts.

A gas station in Germany was running low on premium (Super) over Easter and raised the price to 9.99 euro/l to deter patrons from buying that grade. That's $56/gallon! Unfortunately a few poor schmucks didn't notice and had a lousy Easter weekend.
