PITTSBURGHMitt Romneys pre-recorded video greeting for the National Rifle Associations annual meeting received a lukewarm response here Friday, a reminder of his weakness on an issue important to the Republican base that at times dogged his 2008 campaign. (...)
Im sorry I cant be with you today in Pittsburgh, but I wanted to wish the National Rifle Association my congratulations (on) 140 years of defending our basic Constitutional rights, he said in a two-minute video message. Way to go!
Unlike tea party favorite Michele Bachmann, who also sent a pre-recorded video message, his two-minute spiel was not interrupted by applause.
There were neither cheers nor boos. Thousands in the crowd sat silently but respectfully as the video of Romney, trying his best to look relaxed with his now-trademark open collar, projected on three big video screens at the front of the convention center ballroom.

Romney, the RINO. Everyone knows he is. You have to have your head in the sand to be fooled by this blow-dried snake oil salesman. I’m reasonably sure the gun crowd is too smart for that.
So, how many years has Romney been a “member” of the NRA now? Three?
I wonder if he put any of the member decals on his car, or on his gun safe. LOL
Romney phony-baloney.
The future of our country depends on it!
Romney is pathetic.
Like Trump or not - he HAS proven one thing.
Milktoast RINO’s like Romney have no chance.
It's funny because, just like Kerry's "where can I get me a huntin' license", it's 100% out of character.
... plastic-banana, good-time rock 'n' roller, as Rush Limbaugh would say.
Yep.
Good point. Even beyond Romney's oathbreaking, he is just NOT a candidate that excites passion in the conservative base.
Essentially, Romney's base is the lamestream media.
The MSM really, really, really wants Romney. I’m sure he’s a nice fellow, but he shouldn’t run for any office unless he has a D behind his name. He may look like a Republican in Massachusetts, California and New York, but for the rest of us he is considerably to the left of center. The NRA has been a bit spotty at times over the last decade. I’m not surprised that they listened respectfully. It only means I wasn’t there.
Here’s a good test to decide if someone is a D or an R:
Is the person in question more likely to play squash or handball?
Romney... Squash
I still think Rove is going to trot out Jeb Bush. The new improved 3rd way RINO.
Im reasonably sure the gun crowd is too smart for that.
The future of our country depends on it!

Unfortunately, we have a long way to go to educate the rest of this nation.
Don’t trust him, don’t like him, never gonna vote for him.
I wonder what Mitt’s favorite brand/type of firearm is. I wonder how often he goes out shooting. lol
He isn’t even a man. He’s just a touchy feely, girly - metrosexual, as many of the rest in the running on our side tend to be. If he were in a resturaunt and a couple of thugs came in and started mugging old ladies, he’d probably find a skirt to hide under until they left. (he’d probably be crying/sucking his thumb and pissing himself during the entire time)
It’s sad. Damn Michelle Bachman is probably more of a ‘man’ than 2/3 of the people running on our side.
No way another Bush is going to be elected.
These Rove RINOs think we are all stupid.
I hate to use an overly used phrase but "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."
No more McCain, Hucksterbee, Romney, Pawlenty, Newt and the rest of them.
I wouldn’t walk across the street to piss on Romney if his pants were on fire.
