(04-28) 04:00 PDT Washington - -- The White House threatened Thursday to exclude the San Francisco Chronicle from pooled coverage of its events in the Bay Area after the paper posted a video of a protest at a San Francisco fundraiser for President Obama last week, Chronicle Editor Ward Bushee said.White House guidelines governing press coverage of such events are too restrictive, Bushee said, and the newspaper was within its rights to film the protest and post the video.
The White House press office would not speak on the record about the issue.
Chronicle senior political reporter Carla Marinucci was invited by the White House to cover the Obama fundraiser on April 21 on the condition that she send her written report to the White House to distribute to other reporters who did not attend.

About 200 donors paying $5,000 to $38,500 each attended the event at the St. Regis Hotel in the city, a day after Obama visited Facebook headquarters in Silicon Valley touting the proliferation of "new media" breaking the confines of traditional journalism.
At the St. Regis event, a group of protesters who paid collectively $76,000 to attend interrupted Obama with a song complaining about the administration's treatment of Pfc. Bradley Manning, the soldier who allegedly leaked U.S. classified documents to the WikiLeaks website.

Here are two irony-laden quotes from public officials:
"President Obama has made good on his promise to have the most transparent White House in history," said Thursday, "including routinely opening up his fundraising events to national and local reporters." - Adam Abrams, White House spokesman, 4/28/11
"The main reason we wanted to do this is, first of all, because more and more people, especially young people, are getting their information through different media. And obviously, what all of you have built together is helping to revolutionize how people get information, how they process information, how they're connecting with each other." - Barrack Obama, remarks at Facebook "Town Hall Meeting", 4/20/11
What? The left is defending a traitor? How unsurprising.
It's BUSHEE'S Fault!!
The comments are fun to read, especially coming from San Francisco, of all places! Here’s a sample:
“All the charm of Nixon. All the competency of Carter.”
“Oh my. Could you imagine if Bush had tried to do this?”
“I’m glad to see Hopey McChange being such a strong supporter of Freedom of Speech.”
The leftstream media will fail to realize that this is a total abbrogation of the First Amendment.
They’re too busy waiting for the bamster to p!ss down their backs and tell them its raining - which they will report as BUSH’S FAULT and more evidence of global warming.
Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!! Barack Hussein Obama Chavez!!
I have heard lefties say that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Maybe their logic, given that treason is the highest form of dissent, is that treason is the highest form of patriotism - i.e. Manning is an unfairly maligned patriot.
Leftstream Media! A useful coinage.
They also ought to take a look around and consider whether they have any friends left.
Most of their audience despises them. The President they elected has nothing but contempt for them.
Their options are shrinking daily.

Is this what Susan Sarandon’s boyfriend was talking about when he used the phrase, “a chill wind?”
Any of those will make excellent taglines. :’)
That darn Ministry of Truth telling the press what they can do, one would think they would have been trained by now.
Indeed. And this reply is an excellent opportunity to swap it in...
Thanks. Liberal nitwits are funny... (Ah, until they actually gain power!)
