A senior CBS news anchor today labelled Donald Trump's campaign to raise doubts about President Obama's school grades as an 'ugly strain of racism'.
Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer made the comments in the wake of Mr Trump's calls yesterday for Mr Obama to release college transcripts 'proving' he had the grades to enter Columbia and Harvard.
The attack came as new research suggested viewers for Celebrity Apprentice - some of the most liberal for any TV show - were deserting the program due to Mr Trump's outspoken rants against Mr Obama.

Reacting to the call, Mr Schieffer said: 'That's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black.
'This is an ugly strain of racism that's running through this whole thing.'

Did we expect anything less of Herr Robert Schieffer? He is a democRAT and expounds the party line.

He could have very well gotten into Harvard under Affirmative Action.
All Trump is saying is that his grades were crap. How is that racist? Honestly I think he has point. Reading off a teleprompter to 6th graders doesn’t look too bright.
Schieffer is only half-white, just like the President.
One of the few things that the special ed President actually did write while at the Harvard Law Review, was a letter that contained this...
"I must say, however, that as someone who has undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action programs during my academic career, and as someone who may have benefited from the Law Review's affirmative action policy when I was selected to join the Review last year, I have not personally felt stigmatized either within the broader law school community or as a staff member of the Review. Indeed, my election last year as President of the Review would seem to indicate that at least among Review staff, and hopefully for the majority of professors at Harvard, affirmative action in no way tarnishes the accomplishments of those who are members of historically underrepresented groups."
Bob Schieffer doesn’t like him...one more plus for Trump.
For years LIBERALS have been saying how brilliant Obama is. LIBERALS are the ones peddling this line. Assuming this is true, what is the problem with releasing the grades? Bush did; Gore did; and countless others.
This line of attack is disgusting and will provoke a backlash against the liberal demagogues. People who are not racist do not deserve to be labeled as such.
The commentary on O’Reilly tonight was disgraceful. Even Margaret Hoover, a conservative commentator and decendent of President Hoover, ignorantly dumped on Trump as well. As far as I am concerned, she is finished.
He’s wrong. The purpose behind wanting to see Obama’s school docs is to see if he applied as a foreign student.
Does anyone even watch this guy? Doubt it...so it really does not matter what he says.
