I wasn’t aware of the $25 million reward offer even though I’ve paid reasonably close attention to this issue for 2 years. My guess is Trump isn’t aware of it either, else he’d have made a point of asking why Obama is reluctant to collect $25M in such easy money.

Apart from the size of the reward, the advantage of Trump’s offering it is that it would get instantaneous publicity. As I say, once something like that becomes embedded in the public consciousness, it’s going to be increasingly hard for Obama’s shameless defenders to explain his behavior. As even leftists like Chris Matthews start asking “so why not just show the BC and get it over with?” Obama’s going to look increasingly like a complete idiot (or fraud) for not doing what any of us would do when confronted with the same nagging question: if we have nothing to hide, it’s pointless to hide it!

Absolutely — I’m on board.

Trump ought to offer to give $5 or $10 million to The American Cancer Society (or something) if Obama submits his long-form birth certificate for INVESTIGATION BY A PANEL OF INDEPENDENT FORENSIC DOCUMENT EXAMINERS.

“I would be surprised if such investigations as are or may be conducted per Trump are concluded, nor do I think they are limited to HI only. A little patience wouldn’t hurt. This will all unfold in due course.”

I don’t think Trump would make a good president as many of his positions are indistinguishable from those in the donkey party. HOWEVER, I do think there would be a great advantage in his running since it would give him standing to sue Obama over the BC in plenty of time to force this issue before the election. He can use the dual citizen line of attack, but argue that showing the long form BC is the only way of settling both a) who Obama’s real father is; and b) whether Obama was born in U.S. If the BC confirms Sr. is his dad, this opens up the dual citizen line of attack. But if the BC also shows he wasn’t born in U.S., that line of attack is moot. Donofrio and all the others trying to get this line of attack heard have never succeeded in overcoming the standing to sue hurdle. Trump can. This is a HUGE legal advantage. Otherwise, we can (and probably will) argue this until the cows come home, just as people continue to debate the Kennedy assassination nearly a half century later.

Moreover, even if Obama turns out to be legit, I think it makes him look like a complete idiot if a court forces him to hand over the BC. In short, no matter what, a Trump candidacy could mortality wound Obama politically.

Funny you should mention .. it occurred to me yesterday that if Trump announces and becomes a candidate he has instant ‘standing’ in advance of any election, AND, given the time constraints, he could move for an expedited hearing/opinion at SCOTUS. There are few ways to go directly to SCOTUS, but this would be one.

I don’t know what he’s up to, and won’t venture a guess on what kind of POTUS The Donald would make. The only thing I’m sure of is that he’d be better than what we have now.

So far, it’s been fascinating to watch and we have plenty of time to let things play out. 3 weeks ago, he was on no one’s radar. He’s already given the 2 possible women GOP candidates (Palin/Bachmann) license to at least mention the BC, which they could not have done had he not spoken out. Maybe soon the males on the list of potential candidates will speak up.

I think I read somewhere Trump claims he’s willing to spend up to $600 million pursuing the WH. If he truly has that kind of money to burn, then I think an investment in a $100 million reward is money well spent. It would be worth the equivalent of $500 million in spending on political campaign ads in terms of the attention it would draw. I also think it would command respect—signalling that Trump takes the constitutional question of eligibility quite seriously, that this isn’t some sort of game or cheap talking point.

So if he’s going to go down this road, I think it behooves him to make it a jaw-dropping amount—a reward so large that literally no one in America won’t have heard about it within weeks of its being announced.

I think the offer sounds more genuine if it’s an offer to donate to a charity of Obama’s choosing rather than Trump’s. Otherwise, it may look to some like Trump decided to give a donation to a cause he cared about and now is trying to leverage it for political advantage.

I concur entirely that putting that kind of money on the table entitles him to have the document thoroughly vetted to avoid being scammed. Again, the larger the reward, the more the public will understand the need for this safeguard and the more churlish Obama would appear if he agreed to release the long form BC but balked at letting it be forensically tested by using a pathetic “Surely we can trust the president of the United States” line of argument.

He has over a billion in land holdings alone and that’s low balling the value of some of the real estate he has.

Trump is flawed. The other Republican candidates are more flawed and the good ones like Palin and Bachmann could never raise the money to compete against Obama. Romney could raise a good bit of money but many Americans will never vote for a Mormon plus he has RomneyCare to explain

Trump owns George S
Throws out the BC, then steers the interview back to China and OPEC.
Accuses George of being making the story a prime concern, when we have so many other concerns.
Stops George in his tracks by stating the obvious-George is co-opted by 0bama.
Trump keeps his composure, is firm yet fair. George is flumoxed.

The only missing element would be a question from Mr. Trump to George “Hey George-who’s your Daddy”

Releasing the info (if there is any) gives
BO alot of time to maunufacture more lies to cover up and explain whatever is revealed. By election time, the controversy will be forgotten.

I fear that Donald Trump will be to Obama what Ross Perot was for Clinton.....

Times are different now. Republicans are sick of having to vote for RINOS that the party supports. It may be surprising that a 3rd party may really work at this time in history.

Transcript from Rush Limbaugh:

RUSH: "Okay, gonna try to get Trump on one day this week. We should be able to do that. Actually, you know, I think Trump might actually be the real illegal alien here. I mean, you say what you will, but he is once again actually doing a job that most Americans wouldn't touch. He fits the bill in that regard."
