The new head of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is pushing for screenings of all gun purchases. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the current law, which allows private firearm sales without background checks, is "outrageous." The Florida Democrat is sponsoring a soon-to-be-released proposal extending the screening requirements to all gun purchases, commercial or private. "It is outrageous that gun buyers evade the background check system every day, even in broad daylight," Wasserman Schultz said Monday at a gun reform rally in Miami sponsored by Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Since even the stupidest democrat (and there is a lot of competition for that distinction) must know that gun control measures never work and only cost them support and votes, it’s a mystery why they persist in this folly. Abject stupidity is the most convincing explanation
Oh yeah, this outta work out well for the tards. They are completely incapable of learning.
Yes Debbie, there are no other pressing problems in the country right now... $14T debt, trillion dollar deficits, $4+ gas, double-digit unemployment, 240+ tornadoes over the weekend?
Sorry, Debbie, it’s a non-starter.
I, for one, think that this is great news! It’s a small price to pay to put an end to murder and mayhem in every big city on weekends, right?

What I wonder is why no one has checked her birth certificate.
I agree! Only the police, military and the UN forces should be allowed to have firearms in the United States of America....!!
Right on.
I used to hate when Dems came up with gun-control measures. However, since the political climate has changed so decidedly over the last decade or so (we've come very far since the "million" "mom" march), I now root them on when they go anti-gun. That the head of the DNC is doing this is GREAT for us.
This silly twit would do better to stab herself in the face with a dull butter knife than to proposed gun control - but if she wants to campaign for our side, I say more power to her.
Here’s the deal Debbie. YOu want compromise? I’ll give in to your demand that all gun transfers be checked, if you’ll give in to mine.
You claim you’re not trying to create a database, and have no intention to ban and confiscate my guns.
So let’s make it like liquor and voting. Show ID, prove you’re legally qualified, and make your purchase (I was joking about the voting).
No record kept of who buys what. That’s it.
You can put an endorsement on my driver’s license. I’ll go through a background check once ,even at renewal time. And if I become disqualified, the court tells the DMV, and confiscates my license, so I get a new one without the gun rights endorsement.
But you’ll never agree to this public safety compromise, because you really do want to ban my guns.
It’s more more step closer to registration.
The laws get ever more stringent, and the fact that they accomplish nothing simply means they need to get even more restrictive.
Gun owners are selling their birthright for something rather less than a mess of pottage.
But if that's what the subjects want...
America -- a great idea, didn't last
We can’t have any private sales of weapons, how would the government be able to track and restrict law abiding gun owners?
How about a background check for the president?
How about that?
This is nothing but class warfare against an `enemy of the people’ i.e., gun owners who because majority conservative are targetted by liberals for disarmament and subjugation.
OBTW, most Mooselimbs in America are strongly pro-confiscation; too many armed Kuffar out there, are there not?
And everyone “Allowed” to have a gun should be issued a bright blue helmet that should be worn at all times.
