Liberals on Tax Day: 'Make the Wealthy Pay' Monday, April 18, 2011 By Susan Jones

(CNSNews.com) - America is not broke, liberal activists say. The problem is that many corporations and millionaires are not paying their "fair share" of taxes.

Supporters of MoveOn.Org have organized more than 300 gatherings around the nation on Monday to demand higher taxes on corporations and wealthy Americans who are "raking it in and continue to get tax break after tax break."

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported on Monday that while wealthy Americans pay less tax than they did a couple of decades ago, 45 percent of U.S. household pay no income taxes at all.

Monday is the deadline for filing federal income tax returns.

"The right-wing wants to convince us we're broke so that they can push through their radical agenda," which includes slashing public services, eliminating workers' rights, and destroying jobs, MoveOn.org said in an email message to supporters.

"It's time to demand that everyone pays their fair share to rebuild the American Dream. We invite frustrated taxpayers, underwater homeowners, vilified public servants, job-hunting students, and unemployed veterans -- everyone facing cuts or cutbacks, a pink slip or a shrinking paycheck -- to join in."

It's time to abolish the personal income tax.

This constant, chronic kvetching about how some neighbor is getting rich by not paying his fair share has got to stop.

It destroys the public peace and creates lasting enmity among individuals who would otherwise not have a reason to hate each other.

I propose we round up all of the advocates of the personal income tax up, including those demanding the current tax be raised on others, and take them out and fence them in permanently.

“These are large multinational corporations — Viacom, GE, Rupert Murdoch — that own these studios,” said Moore at the Traverse City event. “Why do they need our money, from Michigan, from our taxpayers, when we’re already broke here? I mean, they play one state against another, and so they get all this free cash when they’re making billions already in profits. What’s the thinking behind that?” - Michael Moore

Weeks later he got himself a subsidy.

"...to demand higher taxes on corporations..."

Aren't these the same liberals who are screaming about corporations taking jobs overseas?

That's the problem with flyover country. We don't care if our neighbor makes more than we do.

Setting all against each other is the goal of the left and their ideological father.

This is the whole point of collectivism, and it gives power to those who claim that they are the ones that will impose “fairness” by getting even with that guy.

Flyover country unfortunately includes CHICAGO, and they think about that all the time. They have their nose in their neighbors privates constantly over the issue of who has more, who has less, and how to steal.

That's who is in charge these days.

It's hurting us guys. Chicago makes the MidWest and the Mississippi Valey look bad. We must do something about it!

I’ve NEVER understood, from a psychological point of view why people (liberals) are willing to hurt THEMSELVES as long as they make the “rich” suffer.

I don’t include cities in my definition of “flyover country”.

Well, when it comes to corporations like G.E., the Libturds have a point.

G.E. paid zero taxes on over 14 billion dollars profit last year.

And as the charts below show, the top 5% of wage earners already pay over 50% of income taxes. So, clearly, they have their heads up their Bidens when it comes to "the rich" not paying their fair share.

Every time this theft-by-tax proposal is made it should be noted that none of this is a “tax the wealthy” scheme. It is a “tax those who are trying to get wealthy” scheme. The wealthy have already made and kept enough money to be deemed wealthy. When one of these Pluto-Commies proposes to tax the accumulated wealth of the wealthy I’ll believe they’re serious. I still wouldn’t support it, mind you. I’d just like to see them squirm.

One day, a genie was in a remarkably good mood, so he decided to go around the world, granting people their fondest wishes.
First, he came to London, where he saw a very sad-looking Englishman. He said to the man, “I am a genie. Tell me what you want most, and I will grant it to you.”
The Englishman said, “My cousin Nigel has the most beautiful mansion you ever saw, but I don’t even have a house at all. It’s not fair! I’m just as good as he is! Why should HE have such a beautiful house and not me? Well, I want you to give me a house even bigger than Nigel’s.”
The genie snapped his fingers, and the house appeared magically. The Englishman was delighted.
Next, the genie went to Paris, where he saw a sad Frenchman. The genie asked the Frenchman
what he wanted most. The Frenchman said, “My cousin Pierre has the most beautiful wife you ever saw, but I don’t have a wife at all. It’s not fair! Why should HE have a beautiful wife and not me? I want you to give me a wife even more beautiful than Pierre’s.”
The genie snapped his fingers, and a beautiful woman appeared. The Frenchman was delighted.
Next, the genie went to Chicago, where he saw a sad-eyed American. The genie asked him what he wanted most in life. The American answered, “My cousin Marty has the most beautiful sports car you ever saw, but I don’t have a car at all. It’s not fair! I’m just as good as he is! Why should HE have such a beautiful car and not me? I want you to give me a sports car even nicer than Marty’s.”
The genie snapped his fingers, and a deluxe Maserati appeared. The American was delighted.
Next, the genie went to Tokyo, where he saw a sad-looking Japanese man. He asked the
man what he wanted most. The Japanese man said, “My cousin Kenji has a high- paying job with the biggest corporation in Japan, and I can’t find a job at all. It’s not fair! I’m as good as he is. Why should HE have such a great job and not me? I want you to give me a job even better than Kenji’s.”
The genie snapped his fingers, and it was done.
Finally, the genie went to Isreal, where he saw a sad-looking Arab. He asked the Arab what he wanted most in life. The Arab answered, “My Arab cousin Abdul has the most beautiful flock of goats you ever saw, while I don’t have any goats at all. It’s not fair! I’m just as good as he is. Why should HE have such beautiful goats and not me?”
The genie smiled and said, “So, you want a beautiful flock of your own?”
The Arab snarled, “Of course not, you idiot! I want you to kill all of Abdul’s goats!”

You gotta’ ~ ORD is still part of Chicago. Without their air traffic control center you’d all fall into Lake Michigan. Then where’d we be!

Michael Moore states “Why do they need our money, from Michigan, from our taxpayers, when we’re already broke here?" but fails to grasp that perhaps Uncle Sam is broke too.

MoveOn.org is losing this battle. With human nature, many people have postponed tax filing and within the last few days, the majority of the 47% who "don't pay taxes" will suddenly realize they are getting money back from the government so they have no reason to be outraged. Even my daughter, a recent college graduate who has already been downsized from her first job, got nearly $700 back from IRS in this year's filing. She;s ready to party.

State film subsidies are right up there with stadiums and convention centers, “redevelopment agencies” and gambling for states and cities to stuff taxpayer’s money into the pockets of favored special interests in the mistaken impression that it will bring in jobs and businesses.

Plus the film industry is so gosh darn glamorous. It gives politicians a chance to glam it up with the beautiful people.

The film industry is probably the unacknowledged master at subsidy/tax break suckling. They have already been playing this game internationally by taking advantage of Euro countries nationalistic efforts to prop up their own film industries. Hollywood “partners” with local studios to get a piece of the schwag. The studios have been taking advantage of Canada’s subsidies for over fifteen years; using Toronto and Vancouver locations for NYC scenes so much that there are a slew of jokes about the phenomenon.

Hollywood is happily exploiting Michigan’s desperation (re: HBO’s “Hung”) and the moment the subsidies and tax breaks stop, they will up stakes and move on to the next sucker. As I understand it, this is a very recent development. State and city film commissions once existed mainly to expedite location filming permits, now they’re routinely expected to cough up bribes.

U.S. builder outlook falls ahead of spring season

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Last Modified: Apr 18, 2011 09:22AM

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. homebuilders are more pessimistic about the housing market this month, a dismal sign at the start of the spring-buying season.

The National Association of Home Builders says its index of industry sentiment for April fell slightly to 16. It had risen modestly in March, to 17, after four straight months at 16. Any reading below 50 indicates negative sentiment about the market. The index hasn’t been above that level since April 2006.

Last year was the worst in more than a decade for sales of previously owned homes and the worst for new-home sales in nearly a half-century.

Fewer homes mean fewer jobs. Each new home built creates, on average, the equivalent of three jobs for a year and generates about $90,000 in taxes, according to the builders’ trade group.

If the US were a business that had 100 customers, the graph indicates that close to 55% of the revenue comes from 5 customers and 66% comes from 10 customers.

How can anyone view that as a viable enterprise?
