I am thinking about downsizing my residence, growing my own food, driving less, protecting myself from international peace keepers and how I will explain what a great country this used to be to my grandsons.

Well, you we can all do what I did and eliminate all grains but Eucharist as well as legumes and simple sugar from your diet. That would put all the cropland back to grazing pastures which would be better for the nutrients in meat anyway.

No offense to the author of the article, but human beings can’t predict the future very well. However, it is always a good idea to make sure that you and your family have the means to survive disaster, whatever that disaster is like. It just makes sense to have enough food in storage to survive at least a season on your own. Stuff happens. It might be one of those end-of-the-world scenarios, or it could just be your luck to be at the epicenter of the earthquake of the decade. Food, ammo, firewood, clothes. Good things to have nearby in savings.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if half of that list shows up soon, too, just like I wouldn’t be surprised if ten more things show up that are just as scary but not listed at all.
And the world’s oceans will rise 3 feet by 2010.
I’m glad I live in the heartland. We;ll grow plenty of food.
