70 ATF Agents Raid IN Gunstore. Grandstand Much?(IN)
The Truth About Guns ^ | 12 April, 2011 | Robert Farago

Anyone remember that the leaked memo from ATF central asking their agents to generate “positive publicity?” You know; in the wake of the Gunwalker Scandal, in which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives stands accused of allowing thousands of guns to flow unimpeded from American gun stores to Mexican drug cartels? It looks like the entire friggin’ Agency has heeded that call. At the same time. In the same place. “Special agent Kimberly Riddell, public information officer for the ATF, told The Star Press that 70 ATF agents, investigators and support personnel were at the [Parker City Ludco gun] shop, with assistance from the Indiana State Police .. .

The gun shop, located on west Washington Street, was taped off by police, and more than 20 cars were on the scene, where officials were removing guns from the shop, placing them in boxes and then loading the boxes onto moving vans.

So who’s paying for all those agents to travel to Indiana, how many members of the press were “invited” and what, pray tell, was the problem?

Ludco Gun Shop owner Fred Ludington was arrested this morning on federal charges.

Ludington was charged with selling firearms to felons and non-Indiana residents.

What’s the bet that this bust is down to entrapment or technical violations? Besides, 70 agents? And . . . anyone see any irony here?

A gun shop owner makes some paperwork errors, or maybe sells to a US citizen from another state, and 70 agents are required to take them down.

Meanwhile, an agent begs to intercept guns going to drug lords in Mexico... Orders from ATF HQ... let them go.

The ATF is an organization of evil people bent on disarming America for their masters.

The ATF is an organization of evil people bent on disarming America for their masters.

Based on past actions, it would be difficult for a sane person to argue against the accusation.

Must have been a huge store to fit 70+ agents into it, or maybe they were trying to fit 70 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag.

“ATF central asking their agents to generate “positive publicity?”

ATF Central’s request came to pass: “They’re positively disgusting!”

"...or maybe they were trying to fit 70 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag..."

Aside from all their other, obvious abuses, they are infamous for mishandling and damaging the firearms that they sequester from civlians. I have read horror stories of

A)While siezing firearms from a home, agents throwing $$9,000 antique firearms OVERHAND into trash cans as if they are trying to dunk a basketball, and

B) agetns mishandling private firearms so badly that when the owner got them back they were not only scratched up and thus made less valuable, but actually broken by the agents when they illegally took them out to the range to shoot them; also,

C) guns that just plain "disappeared", which means an agent took a liking to the gun and stole it.

If I ever see BATF activity in my area and I have the time, I will go straight to the art store and buy a big poster board so as to make the famous "Burn All Toddlers First" sign. They hate that.

Seventy personnel does sound a bit over the top.

Does anyone have any additional information on this?

Slackers.

They did not shoot a fleeing boy in the back.

They did not shoot a woman in the head while she was holding her infant.

They did not burn anyone alive in their church.

They are just not what they were under 1st edition Bush or Clinton. It really is amateur hour these days. They are losing that aura of the “kinder, gentler”, “I feel your pain” days.
