Pelosi's Planned Parenthood War
American Thinker ^ | April 9, 2011 | Jeannie DeAngelis

Posted on 04/09/2011 12:10:08 PM PDT by jazusamo

For peaceniks, Democrats sure have no trouble throwing the word "war" around. Jesse Jackson compared the budget impasse to the civil war

and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi believes her colleagues across the aisle have declared "war on women."

House Speaker John Boehner promised religious leaders

he would "win the war not just win a battle" over Planned Parenthood and abortion. After all, someone has to have the temerity to step forward, pull the plug on the death camps and discontinue funding organizations that pretend

to care for women in one room while killing offspring in another.

Scripture quoter

and crusader for the aged and reproductive rights, Nancy

Pelosi sees the Republicans' fight to defund Planned Parenthood as a "war," and to defend abortion she seems more than willing to lace up her combat boots.

At the Feminist Majority Foundation's Women, Money and Power Summit,

Nancy Pelosi clarified

the dispute: "Abortion is one issue, but contraception and family planning and birth control are opposed by this crowd too. We have a big fight on our hands, in terms of respect for women, and ... what is right for our country in terms of our family decisions, in terms of Medicaid and Medicare. We have to create a drumbeat across America."

Kindly old Grandmother

Nancy Pelosi believes "respect for women...and...what is right for our country" is why Americans should be forced to bankroll an organization that destroys the lives of future Americans. Majorette Nancy proposes the creation of "a drumbeat across America" on behalf of fetal genocide. Well if ever there was a quintessentially American cause, Grandma, apple pie and funding Planned Parenthood is certainly it!

According to Nancy, the supposed war on postnatal women began earlier this year when Mike Pence

(R-IN) audaciously proposed a bill

in the House to cut off 40 years of funding to Planned Parenthood. The Congress made it clear that Republicans were done coercing moral people to pay for ethically repugnant abortion procedures

that cost taxpayers $ 363 million

a year and in 2009 ended the lives of 332,278 Americans.

Thus far John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said that in the budget fight his caucus has not backed "down from [their] efforts to defund Planned Parenthood." However, Boehner admitted abortion is "a major sticking point

in budget negotiations between the House GOP" and a pro-choice White House.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Barack continue to use abortion as protective armor to preserve a radical voting base, and do so with the approving applause of a political party more than willing to go to war for the right to fund America's most celebrated abortion mill.

In the interim, Nancy apparently felt moved to officially anoint herself St. Nancy de Abortion Rights. Pelosi is speaking out and has rallied a brigade of warmongering females ready to follow her into battle. Eleanor Holmes

Norton (D-DC) declared that refusing to fund Planned Parenthood is "the functional equivalent of bombing innocent civilians."

The Republican budget rider that prevents DC from spending money on abortion for poor women was met by an "absolutely outraged" Norton, who also said

it's time DC told the "Congress to go straight to hell."

Holmes said: "If ...Republicans insist that, if they don't get the whole pie they'll take the whole country down with them...then we have got to make them pay the price." Whoa Ellie!

There you have it - on behalf of the abortion "pie," Nancy and company are more than willing to subject Americans to "paying the price" and the "hell" of a protracted political war, if winning makes certain that Planned Parenthood funding continues.

I want to call them out on this.

This is not a “war on women” or a “civil war”.

These liberals clearly have NOT learned the lessons about civility and public discourse we were supposed to have learned from Tucson.

To say that there is a war on women, because of a political policy debate about federal funding for an organization such as Planned Parenthood, is absurd logic. But then, to the liberal mind, anything said about their sacred cows is considered an attack, apparently.

But then again, if the liberals really consider any disagreement with their policy positions to be an act of war, what does that say about the lessons of Tucson????

“but contraception and family planning and birth control are opposed by this crowd too” Nancy Pelosi

It has to be made clear that it is about forcibly taking money from some people to give to others. I do not want the government forcing my fellow citizens to support my favorite organizations and causes. Thou shall not covet and then taken thy fellow citizens money or stuff.

Why, with all of this arguing for the rights of women to have “choice” to do with their bodies as they will, to be able to decide for themselves whether or not to “terminate” a pregnancy, has it never come up that they should also have that same “choice” to be able to sell access to that same body to any man they want to ?

What gives any governing body the right to tell a woman she can’t sell her body to whoever she wants to ?

If you are going to be for “choice” how can you stand in the way of a woman’s “choice” to do with herself as she pleases.
After all, it is HER body ... and if she wants to prostitute her body how can anyone stand in her way.

She has a right to do as she pleases, right ?

Nancy Pelosi believes her colleagues across the aisle have declared "war on women."

You should not assume that this is a good issue for Republicans and conservatives. In South Dakota maybe, but 40 years worth of experience in Virginia tells me it isn't. In the last election, every single piece of literature I ever saw or got in the mail or email from dems focused on this one issue as if no other issues existed; they clearly view it as a winning issue for themselves and Pelosi's conduct also evinces that.

I mean, you're right to want to get rid of PP, but you need to be damned careful as to how you go about it; this is an issue where perceptions trump reality very badly and it could blow up in our faces very easily. We need to make certain that we have alternatives to any useful and legitimate function which PP ever provided for anybody.

If one could find a smile in all of this hyperbole, it would be in Harry Reid's outrageous claim that Republican opposition to laying the burden for funding of Planned Parenthood on hardworking American taxpayers who do not wish to contribute to it would deprive his own wife and daughter of health care!

How a man his age could make such a ludicrous claim before millions of TV viewers across the world and keep a straight face is truly laughable.

Who'd have thought that American Catholics would be the abortion industry's best friends?

Yo, Nancy: judgment begins where?

There is a book I highly recommennd to Nancy Pelosi: “23 Minutes in Hell”, by Bill Weiss. She will lose her war in the long run.

I just recently heard a tape of a woman calling planned parenthood offices ... it was on one of the radio shows (Hannity, Rush, Levine ? ... not sure) and every one of them told her they didn’t offer mammograms or breast cancer screening when she asked about getting an appointment for it.

It sounded ludicrous to keep hearing these politicians spouting off about womens health issues not being met if PP was not funded.
The ONLY reason they open up in the morning is to kill babies.

Is PP the only organization that provides Mammograms and PAP smears? To hear the Dingbats talk, it is the only place that provides these services. When women think about getting a mammogram is the first place that pops in their mind..PP? I don’t think so. Where are all the other Physician organizations on this subject, don’t they care about women?

Eleonor Holmes Norton is one of the biggest , most bigoted ,racist, pieces of slime to ever occupy space on this earth.

Bend Over Boehner has sold us out cheap.

If Boehner had any integrity at all he would submit his resignation as a Congressman, and go in hiding in Ohio.

In this budget battle the dems labeled themselves as the party of death for babies by openly fighting for planned parent (baby butchers in the) hood's funding with our tax dollars.

The reason democrats seem willing to sacrifice everything else in the budget to save planned parenthood doesn't have to do with the “good work” they feel planned parenthood does or even their support for abortion. Planned Parenthood is essentially another ACORN, they fund raise, donate, and campaign for democrats. They are a democrat political action committee disguised as a non profit that democrats funnel federal money to, and planned parenthood then funnels the money right back into their campaign coffers. The dems know that we have managed to take out ACORN and the Republican governors have the Unions on the ropes, they simply can't risk losing their planned parenthood cash cow as well.

Actually, I don't oppose all abortions. I also don't oppose contraception, family planning and birth control.

Furthermore I don't oppose radio, TV and art.

But should the American taxpayers be forced to pay for these services? I do support cutting the funding for all of these services.
