RE :”
Rubio is beginning to look a lot like a career politician with that insatiable lust for power that makes people run for the Senate. And the tea party was the perfect vehicle for him to use to get there. “
He sounded like something I would expect from Hannity Koolaid today. If you want to convince independents that spending cuts are critical to save the country, you don't push for new liberal $$$ wars of unknown US benefit (at best) at the same time. In Hannity imagination-world more war $$$ = less overall spending even though it always works the other way.

At this point in time living in the Obamanation, any Republican will do as long as we get to 51 plus. 51 Olympia Snowes would go along with Obama -- the media would call it "bipartisanship."
I prefer gridlock.

I was commenting about the Republicans controlling the Senate. It takes 51 plus, as long as they have an (R) behind their name.
As I have posted numerous times, I would love 100 Republican Conservatives in the Senate, but we are still four seats away from running the Agenda there. Harry Reid still sets the schedule.
If we don't gain control in 2012, the next SCOTUS Appointee will be another Obama clone. If that happens, the USA will end up being a reincarnation of the Soviet Union in a generation.

Several Republicans voted for Sotomayor and Kagan. If there’s a 3rd Obama pick they better not.

I wish there was a good answer for the Senate. The 17th amendment got passed because people were convinced that having senators appointed by the state legislatures led to cronyism. It's only gotten worse. I think conservatism's best hope is the House. They are the only ones who can shut down legislative privilege. And unless they continue to fear the voters our hopes are slim. The 2010 elections were good, but I really wish they had been better. The budget battle is very disturbing. Our leadership fears a shutdown and the media more than they fear us.

Why should they fear you? Is there any chance at all you’ll vote for a Democrat?

Why should they fear you? Ask Bob Bennett.
