5,000 Illegals Voted in Colorado in 2010 in Mid Terms

GOP says 5,000 non-citizens voting in Colorado a 'wake-up call' for states By Debbie Siegelbaum - 03/31/11 01:23 PM ET

Republicans on the House Administration Committee want to shore up voter registration rules in the wake of a Colorado study that found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the panel’s chairman, called the study “a disturbing wake-up call” that should cause every state to review its safeguards to prevent illegal voting.

“We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections. We must do more to protect the integrity of our electoral processes,” Harper added.

Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, a Republican, told the panel that his department’s study identified nearly 12,000 people who were not citizens but were still registered to vote in Colorado.

Of those non-citizen registered voters, nearly 5,000 took part in the 2010 general election in which Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican John Buck.

Colorado conducted the study by comparing the state’s voter registration database with driver’s license records.

“We know we have a problem here. We don’t know the size of it,” Gessler said in testimony to Administration’s Elections subcommittee.

He told Harper that Colorado would look to create a registration system that would allow his department to ask that some people provide proof of their citizenship in writing.

If individuals did not respond to the request, their registration as voters would be suspended.

Rep. Charles Gonzalez (D-Texas) raised doubts about the reporting, noting that the study itself said it was based on inconclusive data and that it was “impossible to provide precise numbers” on how many people who were registered to vote in the state were not citizens.

Gonzalez asked Gessler, a former prosecutor, if he would have pursued a court case on such evidence.

Gessler responded that the goal of the study was to expose voter registration issues and pursue administrative avenues to resolve them.

“We don’t have a screen for citizenship on the front end when people register to vote,” he said.

“WTF”

What surprise? There’s a reason that the Dems are willing to do EVERYTHING they can to stop Voter ID. The only surprise might be is that we’re starting to see it quantified.

There’s a reason why Harry Reid won re-election last year. Tons of illegal votes. Reid needed to win...down ticket not as important. So they train the illegals to get Harry his vote and that was it.

Stopping illegal voting will buy the Republicans an extra DECADE of dominance here in Texas and really help out in many other states...and all this simply because of having honest elections.

I’ll bet 4 times that voted in Arizona. Crazy La Raza Raul and Gabby needed those “votes” to push them over the top and to beat a couple of REAL Americans. They also helped get the “medical” marijuana (ROTFL!) thing passed with their “provisional” ballots.

“We don’t have a screen for citizenship on the front end when people register to vote,” he said.

And absolutely nothing will be done to any illegals identified as having registered under false pretenses. Just another one of those understandable actions by people who to come here to do work Americans won't do.

But if the Colorado AG does conduct a thorough investigation, that will be a big improvement over past instances of illegals voting.

REASON# 3247078 why we will implode in due time. How about the CIA, who didn’t see the shortage in their retirement fund. The government is an entire joke.

“Colorado conducted the study by comparing the state’s voter registration database with driver’s license records. “

The man must be a genius that figured that out. Put him up for a Nobel Prize. Spread the word to other states that there is a way to ferret out illegal voters.

“Logically they should be tracked down and arrested.”

Sure, but getting them off the roles is a good start.

With illegals voting in mass numbers across the nation, how can you stop them, short of civil war?
The Dems did this intentionally, and now we are just seeing the consequences of their treachery. The power of the ballot has been diluted to the point to where we may not be able to rectify the situation at the polls......m

When you have 5000 votes from illegals added to votes from dead people, college students voting in your jurisdiction and in their home areas, absentee ballots handed out with no ID and shady vote counting in cities & counties where Democrats control the courthouse, you know the Republicans become the permanent losing party.

If you respect the Constitution and our Republic, you only have one or two more elections to turn this around through the democratic process. After that it will come down to an armed struggle.

At least the AG is a Republican. And also, the SOS elected is also a Republican. Of course it doesn’t guarantee anything, but there is more hope than if they were liberals

Unless you can get a public campaign supported by MSM to raise awareness of how serious an issue this really is I believe the answer is, you can't, "short of a civil war." Actually it would be more of a revolutionary war, identical to 1776.

And we all know the MSM is going to just jump right in and start condemning the illegals for voting, right?

Adjust accordingly.

Not civil war, secession.

Imagine the difference in internal reaction between a Dem and a Republican reader of that headline.

D: “Wow, we really need to get the grassroots going to flush those folks out even more.”

R: “We’re going to hell at least as fast as I thought.”

Voter fraud has existed for decades.....but it has always been the Democrats who have grossly cheated. They have a rigged system—more so since motor-voter.....Democrats have been taken over by Communists and are evil.

Communists never can win on their own ideas...they have to lie and cheat. (Until they brainwash a generation of children and fill their brains with mush so they can’t process information).
