SHEP SMITH: No Matter What Obama Says We Are At WAR In Libya
Business Insider ^ | March 23, 2011 | Glynnis MacNicol

Posted on 03/23/2011 2:47:56 PM PDT by Beaten Valve

The Obama administration swears we are not technically at war in Libya.

The reason for the semantics -- other than PR concerns -- is that the President needs Congressional approval to go to 'war' and Obama did not get any.

Shep is less than convinced.

"My understanding of what a war is if our guys go over and they fly planes over and they bomb people and kill people and then the people on the ground shoot back up and try to kill our people. That's a war."

And later: "Wars and roses, like by any other name."

Wow! I actually agree with Shep Smith on something. Michale Moor calls out Obama and now this. That has to be a bad sign.

It’s almost as if Obama is begging to be challenged in the primaries.

When you shoot at them and they shoot at you with deliberate intent, it is called a war. The President of the U.S. went to war with Lybia without consulting congress as required by that old rule book that he continually ignores. The reason that he went has no baring on the fact that he did it.

Agree! It’s actually sad watching the media try to cover for this creep and Biden. Sad that the media would even attempt to protect him.

I’m still convinced someone is giving this guy his marching orders. And since it looks like A.Q. is in charge of the rebels it’s apparently muslim extremists who are pulling the strings. He’s putting this country in the crosshairs.
All the Middle East leaders are not going to like this.

It’s almost as if Obama is begging to be challenged in the primaries.

If multiple states have proof of birth requirements for 2012, there's no way he can win an election because he certainly will not produce proof of his birth.

Actually Presidents have been playing this game for years....remember the Korean “police action”.

The “Gulf of Tonkin” resolution really did nothing to clarify the issue.

Shep is right.

Once that first missile launched we committed ourselves to a long-term engagement in Libya.

I disagree, I do not think this is about Libya. Libya stood in the way of someone else or something else and did not want to bend. Sure they can use lame excuses of democracy , freedom etc etc but its a similar argument as what happened next door in Egypt. There is something far larger on the move and Obama played into it FOR them, at America’s expense.

It would be sweet if we could get proof of birth requirements for 2012 passed in at least two of the following states:

Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina or Virginia.
