I do know this: for a while there, various high-ranking leaders were saying if you don’t like the repeal of DADT, then get out. But there is no provision for soldiers to get out if they don’t like it. So, if a soldier just signed up on a new 6-year enlistment right before they repealed the law, too bad. That soldier’s just stuck. Although the Army might make an exception if a soldier’s in an overstrength MOS and doesn’t owe the Army anything (needs of the Army and all that).
