No charges? Seems to me that this would qualify as assault under existing laws.

Flying between the Dominican Republic and Newark, NJ? I think I know why no charges were filed. Must be one of AG Holder’s people.

This can’t be correct. Vegetarians are peace-loving people, at one with the Planet, and living in harmony with nature.

why press charges? Another waste of time and resources. Just grab her by the throat and bitch slap her then throw her off the airplane. :)

If they had been wearing a Short showing they were a Tea Party member, not only would there be charges filed, but Perky Katie would be covering this as well.

Seems the flight attendant was happy to let the whole thing drop - maybe she was worried that the vegetarian would press charges.

""Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a 'vegetarian plate', if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine." Anthony Bourdain

You don’t need a flight attendant to press charges. It is a federal crime to interfere with the operations of a flight crew, regardless of how this stewardess felt. Federal marshals should have hauled her off as soon as she left the plane.
To: caldera599
Could it be the flight attendant feels that too many stupid acts have been criminalized. That the flight attendant could be a conservative. Many here on FreeRepublic believe that far to many small incidents are taken to court. Not knowing the full story maybe this was the right decision by the flight attendant. Also lets be honest here, how many of you have wanted to do the same even when you didn’t order a special meal. Airplane food can take us bake to grade school cafeteria days. So many stupid things I saw kids do while in jr & sr high have become crimes that will follow then in to adulthood.

I swear practically all vegetarians I’ve ever met are sick all the time. I worked with a woman who always was taking time off sick with a cold.

Looks like this veggie babe beet the rap....she should have faced charges of assalt and batterfry. She should have been grabbed by the collard and squashed within an inch of her very bean.
Unfortunately, I yam absolutely certain that within one or two leeks she'll write a bok, and after appearing on the Okra Winfrey Show she'll mushroom into an instant celery.

As a vegetarian people like this embarrass me. All they do is perpetuate the stereotypes about vegetarians. If she didn’t get want she wanted all she had to do was politely tell the flight attendant. This kind of violent behavior is unacceptable, and this person should not be allowed to fly again!
