Alcoholism has a jewish holiday?

Judaism is so much about moderation and especially when it comes to alcohol, but on Purim that gets turned on its head. Yet, Judaism does not reject alcohol but rather places it center stage in observance in Shabbat, Pasach, and many other situations.

Yet, drinking to excess is very much frowned upon, like any behavior that is taken to excess. Except Purim. Purim is to be an expression of Joy and remembrance. Whooped em again celebrating that fills the place of fear from the hundreds of times when the ones who died were Jews, and all wondered why this could be happening.

It is a celebration of courage in the face of intrigue and old enemies who seem to have the upper hand. And, oddly, a celebration of the actions of a young woman which is unusual to say the least in the faiths of the ancients.
