Whomever wrote that screed was obviously educated in the Madison school system - it’s almost unintelligible!

If you have been reading her blog faithfully through the protests at the Wisconsin Capitol in the past three or four weeks you may have noticed a video segment, which, I think was shot by her husband. It shows a woman in black, roller skating on the walk leading to one entrance to the Capitol building, with blond hair (wig or natural not clear), which resembles Althouse at least generally. You see bizarre stuff like that (i.e., this imitation) all the time in Madison (by that I mean performance art, drumming for this or that protest cause, yada-yada-yada, etc.), but when it starts to turn into intimidation and efforts to curtail the free speech (and reporting) of someone you disagree with - then it starts to be a different animal. At some points in her commentary in the past few weeks (and probably farther back than that) Althouse exhorts us to stop being cowed, intimidated and silenced by the politically correct and apparently dominant liberal and progressive culture in places like Madison. How true that is!

I attended the University of Wisconsin Law School and regularly found myself weighing the utility of expressing my thoughts on a given topic, when I knew that a barrage of abusive and often personal attack was loaded and ready for me. That was the environment there in the early 1990’s - I do not know if it has changed.

I did not take courses taught by Professor Althouse, and don’t recall meeting her during my years in school there. Really regret that now. Until I started reading her commentary in the past 3 years, I would have been willing to bet a chunk of money that there were exactly 0.00 conservative-minded faculty at the law school (after Gordon Baldwin passed away.) As much of a surprise as it was - it has been extremely satisfying to see her skewer the protest movement with a handful of provocative questions and a surveillance camera view of exactly what the hell is going on.

This intimidation attempt has to be called out.

The logical extension of the Obama administration and the 2010 election for all to see.

This is what is lying beneath the surface at a large number of university campus culture — Stalinist tactics. The Marxists will exercise their areas of majority until they are viewed with disgust by the population in general — only then will they scurry back underground.

Her Wisconsin career is over. Time for private practice.

And the mainstream media — which was so quick to characterize the peaceful Tea Party movement as a dangerous collection of radicals bent on inciting violence — needs to break their disgraceful silence and report on the true Madison madness.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

At some point the left will jump over that line and fire the first shot at "Fort Sumter". And like their EmoRat brethen of yore, the end result will be the same but I doubt mercy will be shown this time.

Isn’t “communicating a threat” usually a crime?

Unsigned and anonymous means the work of a coward. The screed contains numerous threats of violence, intimidation, slander, and extortion. Just the message itself is a stack of felony charges on the author. Go after this bum like the criminal he/she is and prosecute! Some recon of their own might reveal those posting “wanted posters”, handbills, emails, letters to the editors, etc. The author(s) of this load will undoubtedly brag about their diatribe and its wide reading on the internet. Use that ego to bait the trap. A little advice: CCW.

Unions are a very dangerous and mindless demographic with which to deal with. While probably not reflecting a majority of individuals within such a demographic ~ those willing to do violence ~ it only takes a very small minority to intimidate and controlthose who are perceived as a threat.

That includes those who would speak out against “Madison REules” being revoked.

Frankly, its a form of terrorism.

Probably not the wisest idea to threaten a law professor. She may know a thing or two about the law.

Appalling but not a surprise. We know that if you scratch a liberal, be it a politician or a teacher, they are authoritarians working under the guise of whatever ‘cause’ they are championing. The showdown in Wisconsin has forced the left to drop the mask and show who they really are. nasty, violent thugs who are no better than terrorists, attempting to intimidate and bully their way to control. This despicable letter to Ann Althouse proves it beyond a doubt and any attempt by the union thugs to carry out these (illegal) threats should be punished by law.

The screed was uploaded to scribd by a "Jim Shankman".

And here's what appears to be the facebook of Jim Shankman, AFL-CIO "volunteer" living in Madison, WI.

Ann Althouse, a blogger and University of Wisconsin law professor

needs one of my pistols, and I will be glad to either to sell her one for a dollar or rent me and one of mine to her for a dollar a day.

Ann, it is not difficult to track a screen name, if you think you and your husband are in danger, I will travel to help you avoid being intimidated.

I'm tired of attending meetings, talking and typing about radical demonRAT thugs that brow-beat {and physically beat} and intimidate average American people.

Palidin is a reasonable American idea, not perfect, but OK.

I will travel.
