Excluding those volatile categories, inflation was tame.

Inflation will always be tame if you carefully exclude all the categories where prices are rising.

HOPEY! CHANGEY!!!
You don’ need no Stinkin’ food, anyway.
Better that money be confiscated as taxes to pay for the next White House MoTown Lobster and Cristal fest.

Most of that increase was due to a sharp rise in vegetable costs

The upward prices were inevitable when a large number of vegetables left the food market and joined the democratic party to be with like minded beings.

Oh my. The MSM (organ of the DNC)
will either:
1) LIE and report prices have FALLEN.
and Obama-The-One is responsible.

or 2) Ignore it. Instead they will imagine
next weeks weather and dutifuly present
propaganda from America’s enemies

or 3) Blame Bush and Palin.

Moochelle thinks we’re too fat and need to diet anyway, so the regime will spin this as a “good thing.”

What's wrong with the gov’t (BLS?)? Are inflationary pressures so bad they can't cook the numbers anymore?

Just wait, the worst is yet to come in food cost push.

Wait until we see the impact of HR2748/S.510/HR2751 FDA Food (Takeover) Safety Bill. I expect that bill which has a cost estimate to implement of 1.4 Billion dollars to add 25% to the cost of most food products. (dependent of % of imported food)

This is a horror bill that both the Dems and Pubbies passed in the last minutes of the Lame Duck Session of the 111th Congress. It was signed into law from HR2751 as Public Law No. 111-353

The wording of the bill “is not yet available” on Thomas Register.

But I finally found a copy of it at the GPO.

Text version:

http://frwebgate2.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/TEXTgate.cgi?WAISdocID=K4p6zK/38/1/0&WAISaction=retrieve

.pdf version:

http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/useftp.cgi?IPaddress=162.140.64.184&filename=publ353.pdf&directory=/diska/wais/data/111_cong_public_laws

It appears that the FDA is continuing to rewrite the details of this law by definition and re-iterpretation now and although it was signed into law is not finished. Reminds me of a tactic that Pelosi used on the DeathCare Bill.

Could anyone name ONE instance of something positive out of this administration? By the time this fool is done with his four years it possibly could take a two term President to turn this around.

We are into a decade of declining growth and increased wealth. This is the perfect storm for all of the baby boomers going into retirement.

I believe we have not seen the worst of his hand yet.

that would be 1975. Looks like Obama really is trying to beat Carter as the worst President in history.

One of the sneaky things they’ve been doing for some time now is keeping prices the same, or increasing by small increments, but making the package size smaller.

For instance, many boxes of breakfast cereal are now 13oz or less, where they used to be 16 or 24 ounce. Canned tuna fish is now in 5oz cans, rather than 6 ounce. And a number of brands of OJ is now being sold in 56oz cartons, rather than 64 ounce.

Sneaky... Or maybe it’s just Michelle trying to get us to cut down on our portions, so we’ll lose weight.

Mark

Soros and BO campaigned on redistribution of wealth. What the ignorant fools that voted mugabe in office thought was the wealth would be given to them, not to Soros and other countries.

WHAT A CONFEDERACY OF FOOLS: The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Obama doesn’t like the oil or auto industry, so by keeping gas prices high, people will drive less and support his Mass Transportation boondoggles.

The First Lady doesn’t want us to control what we eat, so by keeping food prices high, we may eat less, and put many food corporations out of business or under Government control.

The Law of Intended Consequences.

Excluding those volatile categories, inflation was tame.

That's a relief. The effects of increased energy prices NEVER creep into other sectors of the economy.
