This is my hometown, scene of the Appalachian School of Law shootings from 2002. I know some of the deputies who have been shot. It's not good, and the shooter has taken to the mountains with a high-powered rifle to fight Rambo style. State police and U.S. Marshals, with dogs and helicopters, are converging on the area in force.

Prayers up, especially this one from Luther:

“Dear Lord God and Father, convert and control. Convert those who are still to become children and members of your kingdom, that together we may serve you in your kingdom in the right faith and true love and pass from this kingdom begun here to your everlasting kingdom. Control those who would not withdraw their might and means from disturbing your kingdom. May they be dethroned and in humiliation stop molesting your kingdom.”

There is a disturbing amount of LEO shootings in this country now. Seems almost daily in the news. Absolutely no respect for life anymore. Maybe the end result of treating unborn children as a nuisance to be discarded...I just don’t know.

My dad grew up in Grundy so I’ll have to let him know about this. Seems a lot of cops are being killed lately. Prayers for the victims.

You have to wonder when a speeding ticket for 10 miles over can cost you $300 or more.Thats 2 day wages or more for lots of folks for a simple infraction.

THAT, and a complete absence of traditional morality. The Bible is mocked, yet the rantings of an insane murdering pedophile are protected. Can anyone reasonably expect a different outcome?

Thats not my point. Someone else stated that their is less respect for life lately. There is also less respect for common folk just getting by day to day, paycheck to paycheck, when authorities view them only as a resource of revenue. It’s not just one thing or one instance, it’s a combination and summation of all of it that together that makes some people reach their breaking point.

Going paycheck to paycheck while speeding is a shitty excuse for shooting 4 people who have families. If someone robs you, I bet you get indignant if the police tell you “Well, you had too much stuff anyway”.

You are very correct if he has a good scoped rifle and is willing to use it and has a bit of a plan and some training.

There will be a lot more law enforcement officers shot. When something like this happens there are a lot of targets of opportunity.

What saves most law enforcement officer most crooks are not looking to kill them.

There is no excuse for shooting a cop other than self defense in an unwarranted situation, let me be clear about that.I was speaking of someones breaking point, everyone has a different place on the scale.

Oh lets see,No knock raid without a proper warrant, in fear of your life from a cop on a rampage to name a couple. Or are you one of those that would bow down to anyone with a badge, just because he has a badge?
