- Pro-labor demonstrators are preparing Saturday for what may be the largest rally yet at the state Capitol.

Among those expected to attend are farmers on tractors, labor leaders and the 14 Democratic state Senators who fled to Illinois to try to block Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill. Walker signed the bill Friday.

Democrats have vowed to fight the legislation in the courts and at the ballot box -- there could be as many as 16 recall campaigns against state Senators from both parties. Union leaders are scrambling to try to deal with new rules established by the legislation.

The events kickoff at 10 a.m. with what is billed as a tractorcade as farmers parade on tractors and converge on Capitol Square. Music is due to begin at 2 p.m. with speeches at 3 p.m. Labor leaders Marty Biel (AFSCME), Phil Neuenfeldt (AFL-CIO) and Mary Bell (WEAC) are expected to speak.

The 14 Democratic senators are due to appear at a news conference before attending the rally.

Doing this during a true worldwide catastrophe only serves to highlight their piggishness.

Yep. Aren’t they compassionate liberals that care so much about human rights? They should be volunteering and collecting/donating money for the victims of the earthquake/tsunami? I guess the homeless, devastated victims will just have to wait while they finish their little tantrum to show the world how bad THEY have it! Pay no attention to those natural disaster victims, don’t you see how BAD we have it here with our 8month a year, $90K jobs? It’s hard work keeping these protests going! Truly laughable.

I imagine that the Unionistas will be grabbing every wino, doper and street urchin up off of State Street to help swell their numbers.

The winos, dopers and street urchins are highly insulted at the suggestion they would associate with bona fide scum of the earth.

I agree with the other posters that this makes them look foolish and selfish, with the tragedy unfolding in Japan.

Yesterday on Chicago talk radio, the host called the Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce. There was supposed to be a massive protest by local high school students against Walker. They were following the calls by Michael Moore to walk out and protest. There were about a dozen kids there. The host talked with the “organizer.” He said he was expecting alot more kids after school got out. The host explained that it wouldn’t be a “walkout” if they did so after school was let out. LOL

This is like the Nazi Party holding a victory parade for the defenders of Berlin in 1945.

Great analogy!

:This is what is wrong with today’s propagandizing news! The protesters are paying these college kids to show up and protest! These college kids don’t give a damn what the issues are, or even why they are out there protesting, only that they are making about $16.00 dollars an hour and probably in cash so they don’t have to report it and pay taxes on the income!”
