In his Friday press conference to discuss gas prices, President Obama was rather defensive, straining to counter the notion that his administration has been unfriendly to oil drilling, something most people would like to see a lot more of these days.
Where do people get that notion? Perhaps his Interior Department appealing a judge’s ruling that it act on several pending deepwater permits had something to with it.
Obama claimed repeatedly that he is not against drilling, then made the following comments:

What an a$$. I guess I am not needed as a Geologist. Just drill every lease that you have, and damn the risk and expense. Of course, that is the government method—just spend trillions on wasted prospects. Although, I am sure that he would love it if we just quit drilling and send all of the revenue to the gubmint.

I didn’t see his comments, but there is a problem with companies sitting on leases without drilling. Palin fought several of the big companies for this and was successful in getting loafers to either drill or get off the claim.
