America's 10 Most Toxic Cities
Philadelphia Lands on Atop The Most Toxic Towns List
By Morgan Brennan
March 5, 2011

During the Revolutionary War Philadelphia served as one of America's first capital cities. These days, however, Philadelphia could be considered the capital of toxicity, since the city and its environs ranked No. 1 on our 2011 Most Toxic Cities list.

One big reason: The sprawling Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), including parts of four states (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and one county in Maryland), is pocked with more than 50 Superfund sites---areas no longer in use that contain hazardous waste.

**SNIP**

Now we're not saying that if you reside in one of these areas, you need to pack up and move, or seal your windows shut. But it pays to be aware of the risks in your area. For example, the EPA says when the Air Quality Index for an area climbs above 100 (ratings range from zero to 500, with zero being the best) it can bring on respiratory problems for people with lung disease, children and older adults. Above 150, everyone can suffer. Most cities don't even have a single day each year when the AQI is above 100. But Bakersfield, Calif., which ranks second on our list, had 43 such days in 2009, Fresno (No. 3) had 29 days, and Los Angeles (No. 6) had 14.

They didn’t include San Francisco with e-coli and other fecal contaminants?

Almost 17% unemployment too.

The only thing toxic in these cities are the scum running them and the people that live in them.

The most toxic city in America is New York City.

It’s filled with traitors, liars and thieves, starting back before 1776 when gutless males insisted that their stupid females flip up their skirts to any redcoat for a pence.

The biggest mistake Gen. Washington made was not burning that nest of vipers and vermin to the ground.

THE most Toxic city in the USA is of course Washington DC. The most vile collection of communistic filth and marxist vermin ever collected in the course of American crime.

Every time I see a story like this, my first thought is BOHICA. Especially coming from ABC News.

I hate these top ten list. This year Fresno is one of the dumbest, drunkest most toxic cities.

Maybe you heard this joke about NYC: It was the only city in the 13 original colonies which the Americans never controlled at any time during the American Revolution. And thus it has remained ever since.

Where’s Keith Olbermann living these days? That is instant toxic.

If Morgan Brennan knew anything about the rating scale that includes TRI, superfund sites, amd the EPA’s “air quality index”, he would know this story his just a bunch of hogwash.

I believe the most dangerous toxicity emanates from the greater DC area. An entire city whose economy produces nothing but freedom stifling laws and regulations, paid for with money stolen at the end of a gun.

Nah, unions drove steel production out of Pittsburgh 30 years ago. Where J&L once stood proud on the river bank, it is now an office park with glass-walled buildings and immaculately landscaped grounds.

But Americans did control it when the British were in occupation of Boston. Washington defended it, first on Long Island, then in battles on Manhattan.
